Narcotics on the Coast
http://oheraldo.in/pagedetails.asp?nid=29343&cid=26 He said that it was very difficult to eliminate the business completely but it can be controlled. “It is very difficult to eliminate the drug trade right away and we are trying to control it so that slowly it dies its own death,†he said. In other words if we turn a Nelsons eye it might go away  |

It seems that some people in the Goan authorities think that the drug problem will slowly die a death. How wrong they are! The more drug users the more crime and everything that goes with the seedy life. One only has to look at the inter cities in some of some Western Countiies to see what damage that drugs do. These dealers will use every trick in the book. These kids will also become addicts, will attack, muder, rob and commit crimes to feed their addiction. The Russian Mafia will control Goa (that if they are not already doing so.) It makes one think why the Russians have now been allowed to enter Goa without visas. Or is it that the Goan authorites are so desprate to attract tourists to Goa and whatever type and despite the high security risks involved. I have also been approched with the offer of dupe and even by minors. They consealing the stuff in the nick of their backsides, they are also using bikes hiding stuff on the frames as well as dogs and hiding the stuff in their collars. There are used needles on the sand behind and down the side of beach shacks so as I have said on another thread any readers who are not aware PLEASE DO NOT WALK ABOUT BAREFOOT IN THESE AREA COULD BE POSSIBLE RISK OF AIDS/HIV. I wonder what Goa will be like in another 5 years if the authorites and police do not get a grip. Hope it is not too late! Sunglow. |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
From the letters in today's Herald is a letter from a guy in Mumbai who wants to save water when flushing toilets:-
quote Well, I have a better idea. Today, in all flush tanks, there is only one lever which empties the entire contents of the tank into the toilet. What I suggest is that flush tanks all over the world must be designed and manufactured with two levers, one to be used after urination, emptying only half the water of the tank and the second, to be operated after defecation, emptying the full contents of the tank, as less water is required for a sanitary flush after the former. Such an innovation will save trillions of litres of water on a daily basis. Probably thinks he is on to a winner here - wish I could tell him we have had them in Spain for years as have most of the modern world. |
