They look very impressed when we see them trudging back from the beach about 20 minutes later when all the sunbeds down there are full.

Have seen them tell people to get off the sunbeds because they used them yesterday, and get quite stroppy. Silly Numpties.:thumbdown:

We should all go and buy one of those very large lilo things and use them as sunbeds on the beach (you know the ones with inbuilt pillow etc) - that way you can buy drinks from whichever shack offers you the most free drinks, and the police can't kick you off of them. Probably less lumpy than the "free sunbeds free sunbeds" we are repeatedly offered anyway.
We should then all go and line them up outside that Beatle nutcases' shack and order our drinks from the shack next door !!

That'll show 'em that us Brits are made of stern stuff .... and what a laugh it would be to see the surprise on the locals' faces....

Years ago an old couple in their 80's had their own chairs and sun umbrellas
they bought to the beach each day. The police cleared the beach of sunbeds and there was a hell of a row, they wanted to confiscate the old peoples chairs etc. The old lady just wacked the police with her sun umbrella. - and they won and the police went away.

Well, it is going to be very disappointing for all the Brits who will be arriving in Goa next Tuesday morning on the Thomson's charter flight from Manchester.

If shack lots are not being drawn till the 5th November, it will then take a few days for the selected shacks to be erected therefore, that is 5 days out of the British tweakers holiday where they have had no basic beach facilities.

It seems tourists are being encouraged to stay in their hotel grounds using the hotel's facilities instead of going to the beach and spending their time and money there.

The shacks should have been up and running on the 15th October the day after the first Russian charter flight arrived.

What with all the visa hassle, lack of basic beach facilities, some cops hounding the FN motorists/bikers it is all very off putting to say the least and does not promote Goa to be a welcoming and accommodating destination.

Totally agree with you, but the Goans could not organise a piss up in a brewery. Not only are they upsetting the tourists their own people are loosing out. The best will be, the sun will be shining.:thumbsup:

Tis true - just checked www.charterflights.co.uk £264 out of Manchester on Thomson - it's for nowt!

I'd recommend any fellow tweekers NOT to book their 2nd trip of the season by charter flights in the near future - play the waiting game, the stupid Easter 2010 prices of £600+ WILL come down drastically, it's just a matter of time!

Mmmmmm & why would you have already got your visa if you weren't planning to go for the season, hence you would have already booked your scheduled flights - therefore, pretty useless cut price offer really. . . . . . . . . .

It's all rather pathetic really when you consider that the state of Goa relies on tourism and has little else to offer the world - yet they cannot get the beaches up and running in time for the season start. It seems that complacency has set in and they think that tourists will just come year after year no matter what. If they carry on this way, they will get a shock to their wallets !

A potentially very sad demise looming on the horizon...:(

The Politicians are being paid by the 5 * hotels to mess around with the shack licenses. Why be so greedy - the shack boys need to make a living as well.
