Zoom go from Gatwick directly to Winnipeg, Summer service only. Outside those times you need to connect through Chicago/Minneapolis/Toronto, it gets pricey.
Some friends paid about 600 CAD a month for a small 2 bed, unfurnished, in the South of the city off a main road. It wasn't great, but cheap enough.

Houses, shops scenery, bars, sociable people, soccer on TV and locally what more could you want?
Hardly every rains and has the coolest winters.

Re: Winnipeg
Depends what you want from a City really.
We chose it as it had everything we wanted, a reasonable size with enough amenities, without loads of traffic and hassle. Its a good place to bring up children. The people are, on the whole, good and reliable.
Its not a terribly exciting or glamorous place, the scenery is flat.
Its hot in the Summer and Cold in the Winter, theres normally plenty of year round sunshine.
For us, its a good place to live.

Re: Winnipeg
ur 19 and have a job offer in Winnipeg that can't be filled locally
Are you a brit or a canadian on bunac?
Where's your job? What's your job? My 19/20 year olds are looking
What's your interest? Sport music parties
What's your typical week involve at home?
Typical stereo cast 19 year old doesn't travel to foreign countries for a job.
So need to have a little bit more to go on.

Re: Winnipeg
I had a 9mth-old GB license, I swapped it in Ontario though, and so I had 12 or maybe 13mths total driving experience by the time I got to swapping it in Manitoba. It was a G2 (graduated) Ontario license that I swapped, and it got upped to a full license in the swap. Having said that, MB knew I was <2yrs driving because the date on the license for when you are allowed to accompany learner drivers was correct and tallied with my original GB test pass date.
Bonus about Manitoba over Ontario: I don't think there is a test at the end of 2nd stage - you simply get a full license at the end of the time period, whereas in Ontario it's a road test at the end of G2.
