Get a grip people and let's start building a hi-tech economy that does not rely on low-tech products and send this political correctness where it belongs so that all races and genders can benefit and have a good standard of living.
We are all in this together.

What is wrong with Canada, where do I start? I am sick of hearing about licencing cats, gays, homeless people, marajuana should be legal, ethnic minorities, everyone has rights, blah blah blah, etc. Today gays have rights, tomorrow pheodophiles have rights, etc, etc, etc. What the hell is an African-American anyway? Most of these people do not even know where North America is on the map, never mind Africa. Ask Bill Cosby if you do not believe me.

I rather care for the idea of licensing gays. Would people who aren't firmly located on the spectrum of inclinations get a demi-license, something like a parking permit, allowing same-sex activites on alternate days except in the winter months?

I think "parking permit" would be a great name for the gay licence.

Would there be some sort of test one would have to pass before one could get one's 'Gay' license? Imagine the shame in failing it. "I'm sorry my son, you are just not gay enough".

Various organisations we've had as clients have had quotas of varying types. Being a Toronto based firm we've always had a good ethnic mix and we've had a lesbian sub-contractor for decades. However, we've never had enough Hispanics nor male homosexuals. Norvey, a Columbian, once manager of the Yard, is our usual token Hispanic "software developer" and I'm the token friend of Dorothy.
I've often wondered if someone from the government would one day turn up clad in leather and sporting ludicrous facial hair wanting to conduct an audit.

Ah. I have some experience of being nervous about that.

I guess the high crime rate in Edmonton is not affected by the weather.

And no, the windchill does not affect the crime rate in Edmonton, only means that people like me have more time to spend on the computer annoying other people cos its too damn cold to do anything else!

On the other hand, if you are comparing homosexuality to paedophilia then you seriously need your head checking.
Or maybe you could start reading something apart from the Old Testament...

Most people don't understand what the significance of multiculturalism is. The melting pot is the way to go. Multiculturalism is simply politically correct societal segregation. If Canada wishes to become an island of disunited enclaves and ghetto's, we are well on our way.

Sure, Canada needs intolerant non adjusting immigrants like Earth needs a collision with Jupiter. If I as a born Canadian with white English ancestry am told to be tolerant and embrace others, I expect the same in return from people whose families haven't paid taxes here all there lives. Some people do without hesitation and I commend them, some pretend like the are not in a new country. I have no use for the latter.

However "segregation" and "ghetto" are inaccurate. No edict forces people to live where they do and areas where one ethnicity dominates are not necessary poor; Markham and Woodbridge are examples of rich areas where neither English nor French is the language primarily spoken.

If you were a dedicated Canadian you`d learn the languages of your compatriots, at least French, so as to be able to mingle with them. If instead you choose to stick to your English language enclave that`s fine but don`t complain if other Canadians choose not to learn how to speak to you. In Canada their culture is equal to yours.
