Aww, come on. The bacon here is awful.

lol, sure
Now, replace "White Anglo Saxon protestants and other backward groups" with "Brown East Indian Hindus and other backward groups" and you can see the different reaction. Basically, if I said that about another group you would be crying racism, you are in fact making a great example of the problem that exists.

Hmm, I think you meant to say economic expansion through population expansion. The country can survive without immigration, Japan and Austria are 2 examples of fine countries with declining populations or stagnant ones. But I am not against immigration, I am against multiculturalism. You are playing the role of lead idiot with comments like the one highlighted above. Same with Jmmie Martindale.

I see you missed the point......

Its called progress, life moves forward, the old ways no matter who's they are change, but they don't have to merge to change

Sure....but it came across as a bit "everything you've heard is a lie" sort of thing.

I can't help but smile when i read posts where people complain about the long cold winters in places they've emigrated to where the climate obviously shows this will be the case.

Like people moving next to an airport or race track who are suprised and unhappy about the noise.

Just a question from me though. For the people who're looking to move back to the UK, have you thought of looking elsewhere in Canada first?

I truly do hope the people who're having a tough time with the climate, loneliness, crap bacon, and lack of multiculturalism find what they're looking for.

1. You can't know the relentless dreariness of the winter weather without living in it. Simulating by putting gloves and hats on a child, taking them off, putting them on again, all day, every day, for a week gives a clue but it's not quite the same.

2. If the winter weather is the concern the only option is Vancouver. Not everyone can get a job in Vancouver.

Ok sorry.
But as I said I LOVE IT HERE apart from the crap bacon
For "us" (our experience) sadly we will be better off back in the Uk and we are ok here my Hubby is ex RAF so he has a pension as well but for the bigger picture in our future the Uk is the better option, I would love to try another part of canada "but" we have a daughter at school who i dont want to mess about to much, and while the Uk housing market is such a mess (sorry people who are trying to sell) we could get a good deal so get back on the ladder near were we got off, a house would cost us around 50 thousand less so the money we used to move and set up here get back ect will be OK.
I really think Canada is a lovely place and will VISIT often but for us the Uk wins and I cannot believe I have said that!!!!!

You may change your mind after you've been back a while! Not sure how long you've been gone but it's not good here, IMO. Hope things work out anyway good luck with your move!!

Again, it depends on where you are though doesn't it? I would say the opposite and I will certainly miss our little bit of England.

There is a Massive difference between PERSONAL experience and FACTS. You stated your PERSONAL experience of the PART of Canada you live in as being FACT for the WHOLE of the nation.
I will also add that my comment at the time was not exclusively directed to you.

I don't see that. Her post started

"... the GRASS IS NEVER GREENER!!!! we moved here"

I read "here" as meaning where she moved to, somewhere down east, not as meaning "all of Canada".
