I needed a break. Not enough hours in the day to be here and ski, and somewhat bored of dealing with the same stuff over and over.

Barring a big lottery I suspect it will have to wait until my kids have grown up and I have some money!

By then, you'll be too old to ski.

I may well be dead! but there's an old fella at my local bump who is 75, he gleefully informed me at the weekend it was his 50th day out on skis this ski season. Sadly it was only my 5th. Still, thats more times than I went golfing last summer.

Hmm. We really don't have many common interests, do we?

Golf is a game, not a verb. North Americans "go golfing". Gentlemen play golf.

Its not often that I agree with dbd but for me golf is a wasteful blight on the landscape. Please don't refer to it as a 'sport'.

But, to wrestle the thread back on topic, no-one plays golf in Canada during the winter. Which is officially over tomorrow afternoon; however we still have a metric foot of the white stuff outside and more is in tomorrow's forecast.

Would be immigrants who play golf should be aware of this. Of course would be immigrants who play golf aren't welcome in the first place.

Have you got this stuff arriving up on Richmond Hill too tomorrow Novo? We apparently have 15 cms and it's still -16 now. I thought it was just here?

Can I ask how 'really' fed up any other posters may be feeling? I'm actually not doing too well...I'm very blue and don't want to let my family know...they might have grasped it, as I'm being snappy!

The idea of winter, is very much different to the everyday reality.

I watched some golfists drag their sticks around a course locally a couple of weeks ago. Even here, half way up a mountain, the golf greens have started to be blown clear of snow, in preparation for the season.
