Several? As in 8? Maybe more? Then the interview? So how long from beginning to end do you think ? I suppose we better get started if we want cards for next spring. I'd foolishly thought it was just an online application a la ESTA and the interview was for some but not all.

Apologies to jump on this
I know for PRs you have to have been in Canada for 3 years prior to applying but is that 3 years as a PR or can you include time on a TWP/IEC as part of the 3 years? I did try to look at NEXUS to get this information but I only could only find speculative answers on Canada visa forum... |

For me and Gozit it was over 9 weeks to get conditionally approved but that was over Summer. I could have scheduled my interview earlier but was waiting for other family members to get their approvals and to schedule an interview date we could all make. If you're under 18 (my daughter is 15), you need both parents present or a letter (I think) from the missing one.
S I brought one parent with me and a letter of consent from the other one as well as her passports and my dads passport which they needed.

When I went in, they asked for and looked at both my Maltese and Canadian passports. When I applied I put in details for my Canadian passport and Maltese passport in GOES. |

You just need to have PR and 3yrs residence. Not 3yrs as a PR. Just 3yrs residence in general. :) So this means can get one next September then (3 years) great! How will they check/want to know I have been here on a TWP - do they want my voided work permits? |

I applied earlier this week. They didn't ask for work permit proof, just asked for a Permanent Residency Card number and expiry date. I did however have to list all addresses going back 5 years so I assume they use this to check you satisfy the three year residency requirement.

Re: NEXUS card
I'm always jealous of those going down this line when visiting Canada or the US - are there any schemes I can join (being British) that might speed things up through immigration?

https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-t...ry/eligibility For NEXUS you must be a US/Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident of the US or Canada. NEXUS members get Global Entry privileges but Global Entry doesn't get you NEXUS privileges. |
Re: NEXUS card
Thanks for that I'll check out Global - won't help for Canada then but still could be useful around the US.

Re: NEXUS card
FWIW, some Canadian airports allow US citizens to use the Canadian citizens line / automated entry kiosks. What this means to you - the general visitors line where UK citizens would line up might be a little quicker.
If you're a resident of Canada this is moot and you can use the automated kiosks or at least go through that line. |

If you're a resident of Canada this is moot and you can use the automated kiosks or at least go through that line. You are eligible to use ABC kiosks when entering Canada if: You are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, or a U.S. citizen and You have a valid Canadian passport or permanent resident card, or U.S. passport. Travellers - Automated Border Clearance Those on study/work permits although residents of Canada temporarily are not considered PR's so they cannot use the ABC kiosks. |
