Because on the application you would be applying as a Canadian citizen and your other country of citizenship wouldn't be relevant. I know in Section A of the paper application form it asks for details of other passports you have. So by the same token if you had dual citizenship but no passport what would be the relevance?
The application doesn't ask if you have citizenship of another country it asks which category are you applying under i.e. Canadian, US or Other and asks for place of birth. It doesn't specifically ask if you have citizenship of another country. Both Canadian and US enrolment officers when seeing another passport along with a Canadian passport tell the applicant to put it away as the other passport might require visa requirements. I certainly don't see any misrepresentation by not declaring you hold another passport when holding a Canadian or US passport. As for visa requirements, it wouldn't matter because as you say i'm applying as a Canadian and don't need a visa for Canada or the US (6mos stay in US). They'll likely just peek at the Maltese pp and then ask to put it away, but I feel better including it. |
Re: NEXUS card
I agree you should include it.

How long was the time between your application and the interview date? |
Re: NEXUS card
Yes, SP and if you applied online, how long did it take for the initial review?
Thanks! S |

Application until conditional approval, ie notification of interview about 8 weeks, Snoop then delayed it a bit as we were doing other stuff in Vancouver but if you took the first appt after the notice of call to interview it could be within 1-2 weeks
The site says 4-6 weeks so lets hope its more along that line. ;) |
Re: NEXUS card
Are you applying online Gozit or a paper application?
If you apply online you have to pay in US$ so the $50 is more expensive than if you apply on paper where apparently you have a choice of US$50 or CA$50. That's what I read. S |

Re: NEXUS card
I wrote on this thread that the reason I thought to join Nexus is because of travelling internally within Canada by plane (at least 3 times in the last year). The consensus (on this thread) is that it is worth applying (and I saw the evidence for this first hand at Halifax 3 days ago). But won't the reviewers be wondering why I want one if I don't go to the US much (only once in the last 5 years) and refuse me on that basis?. Mind you, if I had Nexus, I might be persuaded to go more frequently because it would be less hassle ...
Thanks! S |

Thanks! S The interviews are perhaps not as bad as you imagine. Whilst they are a formal process, they ask standard questions and some light hearted ones in our case. You presumably would have yours at YVR as well, they were pleasant and friendly- especially the Canadian Officer. Yes, definitely worth doing  |
Re: NEXUS card
Thanks SP! I just wondered if I applied, my initial review might result in a refusal based on the fact that I hardly ever go to the US in the first place. Obviously if I get to the interview stage, I can explain my motivation!
Let's see. S |
