Woo-hoo!! Conditional approval! Just need to schedule my interview. Toronto is saying absolutely 0 appts available, but there is plenty in Buffalo for next week so maybe making a road trip up there isn't a bad idea

Buffalo has iris scanners, right?

Re: NEXUS card

Another quick question... If I am travelling over the land border with someone who is NOT a NEXUS member, so we go through the regular line, but I have the option to present either my Canadian passport or my NEXUS card, there is no obligation to present one or the other?

Re: NEXUS card

Another question. In terms of "maintenance" ... what do I need to do??

-Inform them when I renew/change my passport, and visit an enrolment centre to have them scan it (do these apply to only my Canadian passport or both passports?)
-When I change employment/schools
-When I move (even if that move is outside Canada & the USA)

Anything else i am missing?

Yes the ability to use Google or Bing to read the NEXUS terms and conditions which would have answered all of your questions
NEXUS - Terms and Conditions

Buffalo/Fort Erie has Iris scanners
You can present either passport or NEXUS card for ID when in NON NEXUS lanes.
As for passports being updated

Updating information
NEXUS - Updates to personal information

Note it says CBSA not USCBP when updating passport info. NEXUS gives you Global Entry privileges to use Global Entry kiosks when flying into the USA from any country.
I am a current Global Entry member. How do I update my passport information?

All Global Entry members can update their passport information through their GOES account. Click on "Update Documents." If the passport update involves a name change, you must visit a Global Entry enrollment center to update your information.

Yes I know but some human confirmation is nice ;) (My google-fu is not as good as Siouxie's !!)
Thank you. For the passports it looks like they are both (CBSA/NEXUS and GE) done through GOES so not a problem there. Cheers

Seems like anything I would need to update in terms of passport or address is within GOES.

Now I'm anxious about it.

I asked my daughter what she would reply if they asked her why she wanted the card. She said she will say "because once my mother gets an idea in her head, that's it: we all have to do it".

Seems reasonable!
Try waterboarding until she comes up with the desired answer

The standard answer is to make travelling and going through security easier. It doesn't even have to be international travel though it helps when coming back to Canada or the USA as you have access to the NEXUS and Global Entry kiosks.
You could also get her to add in that you are helping with the Federal debt of both countries by giving them $50.

And the teenager answer is the one that Snowy gave above ;)

Snowy- really don't worry about the interview- they are not trying to trip you up, they seem to be pretty friendly, even the Muricans:cool:

Re: NEXUS card

The truth is she's desperate to go back to the hotel in Seattle we stayed at 5 years ago. Then it took ages to cross the border (just after Christmas) and it put us off somewhat.

The truth for me is I'd also quite like to go back plus I want to feel really important going through the priority queue (sorry, line up) for the security check when I travel by air within Canada!
