I do think though that two days was enough. Any longer than that and I would have had nothing else to do.
As a place to live the people I met were either students, retired or in the Canadian Army. Not that many work opportunities there at all.

I had a pretty good time there- although I was only there two whole days. I went to the history museum, whale watching, the bus tour, got a little drunk on a nice patio in the bay and caught a sea plane home.

I've nothing against it, and my retired parents loved it (though not quite as much as Gibson's or White Rock - which was, I think, their idea of heaven). As you say, I don't think I could live there. I always looked forward to getting back to the diverse world-class environment of Vancouver.

TO's OK, but not a patch on Montreal.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Not at all!! I've worked and socialised with Americans and I can tell you the gap in culture is quite significant!! Even they can sense the gap in our cultures!!
They're into their papaprazzi, game shows, guns, aggression, material things, celebrities, they're loud, different senses of humour, spelling, etc
Canadians don't care about stuff like that in general...
I feel more at home in England than I do anywhere in the US! But I am from the most British part of Canada...Victoria and my family is British, so not much of a stretch when family comes to visit or I go to visit.
The country that is little America is Australia...I am living in Oz atm...thought I escaped America but the Aussies eat American culture up like it's going out of style! Even their attitudes are American of 'we're bigger and better'
In Canada, we LOVE our British and the hate Americans. In Oz they LOVE the Americans and HATE the POMs.

New Zealand is our sister country...we LOVE LOVE LOVE the Kiwis because they are just like us...so Cdns gravitate to the Kiwis whilst in Oz...I feel at home around the Kiwis, Brits, and Irish...makes me less homesick and I know I can speak for other Cdns.
For the Kiwis, English, Welsh, Scot, and Irish who want to come to Canada...PLEASE COME TO CANADA...PLEASE!!! You guys make Canada stick to her roots...and veer Canada away from American nonsense i.e. Toronto
!!!
Americans need not apply nor visit Canada.
