My endometriosis requires depo-provera injections. It's administered by doctor/nurse. WOOHOO!!

although it will cost me a flipping fortune until I'm on OHIP. Better keep my legs crossed until then.

Can't just say the success rate is any figure as there's a whole bunch of variables involved in the reversal the biggest of course is time period between vasectomy and reversal. The shorter the time period the better, obviously.

Just as I shouldn't have said it's reversible, I should have said in some cases it is worthy of consideration if the circumstances warrant.

Yes I get it too. My understanding with OHIP is that medicines administered in clinic/hospital are free. It's prescriptions that are not as you take them at home.

If that covers the depo shot as well, is another question.

Hi There,

Can someone please tell me whether the IUD (coil) non hormone one is available in BC and whether it is easy to get administered? I have one at the moment but it is due for replacement within the next year or so was thinking of going to my Doctor and seeing if they will replace it now at least then it will last another 5 years and I won't need to worry about finding it over in BC and it gives me enough time to try and convince him in doors to have the snip!!! last thing I want is another child!!

OK, I know this is gonna get me in trouble but..........................
If the last thing YOU want in the world is another child why should HE get the snip?????? There are OTHER alternatives which means HE can keep HIS options open and YOU dont have to SUFFER another child

I clearly didn't word it very well - the last thing WE want is another child. It is a minor operation for him to get the snip it is a MAJOR operation for me to be sterilized!! Men have it very easy in life LOL this is the least he can do

Difference being that with a man the snip is REVERSIBLE whereas for women it is PERMANENT! So if a women goes off and gets here self "spayed" she has no choice should she ever change her mind and all her options are lost. The man still has his. So why should SHE have to do it?

Once again not entirely true.

Are we talking tubal ligation or hysterectomy here, because one is reversible and one isn't.

I've been told that even tubal litigation is permanent as the tube fuses were the clamp is set. Got friends who've done it. And one had a failed one. they found that one of the clamps had only clamped half the tube so it was partially open. the other side was properly clamped and fused.

Didn't say it was 100% effective and as I commented above there are variables just as there are in reversing vasectomies.

But both are reversible in theory and practice in many but not all cases.

By the way I'm not arguing against vasectomies I had one many years ago.

One of my exes had it done after we broke up. Then he had it reversed and is now a proud papa.

Another friend of mine got her hubby to go have the snip done because she had had enough. In very short succession 3 girls driving her up a tree, not been given a chance to lose the weight in between. Now both of them plus the girls (of which one is my god child) are happily living it up in Australia.

See above, and as Steve in theory both are reversible
