Yes, quite. Spelled well or badly it sets out issues confronting public healthcare systems everywhere.

It's nice to see that two posters are so lovely

rainey you are so much a karma whore hun
Leave you alone for awhile whilst im looking at houses and wow i come back to another page full
bdb33 we all know you are a total sweetie, i know where rainey is coming from as we do get the free healthcare to a point in alberta now as we dont pay as of january, but we pay in other ways, just like we did in the uk...

pgtips advised that her 'friend' had only been here amth, that is not long enough to make a judgement on a area, there healthcare cards would not have had time to be printed yet, never mind be looked at.
Like purley said about the school, this is something as 'parents' we need to look at before our move...................who would want another britain here, if its another britain 'IM OFF'

Karma given too all the nice's

Is there a way to describe that to someone who has never experienced it?

Cold . According to the weather forecast page it's low enough to cause frost-bite on exposed skin in five minutes.

Getting that way though; for example, they canceled the rubbish bin pickups for a couple of days recently because they were worried that the hydraulics on the trucks might be damaged in the low temperatures (there's an arm on the side that picks up the bin and dumps the contents in the truck, so the driver doesn't have to get out and do it manually).

I'm just hoping that Fedex left the box of computer parts I ordered somewhere warm over the weekend, as they didn't manage to deliver it on Friday when they were supposed to.

They do Cancel the buses
Bus and school cancellation information
There are days when school bus transportation may be cancelled, but the schools and the administration building will remain open.
School buses are cancelled for the day when the wind chill reaches -45° C by 6:15 a.m. Buses may also be cancelled due to extreme snowfall or poor driving conditions.
All schools and transportation of students may be cancelled due to a blizzard.
If school buses are cancelled or schools closed, the following media outlets are contacted in the early morning to ask that they broadcast the cancellation: CBC ; CBC-French; CJOB; 1290 CFRW; 99.9 BOB-FM; Q94-FM; 92 CITI FM; 102.3 CLEAR FM; 99.1 CJZZ-COOL FM; City-TV, and the Weather Network.
But school is still open when -45c as they don't want to lose a day from the education calendar. So you have to get to school on your own.

currently minus -42c feels so cold the Huskies next door won't come out of their Kennel to bark.
