Sorry, but I have to refute the feeling part of that statement. :D

I'm not annoyed either. I'm cool as a Hindu cow. Don't make him disappear I liked reminiscing about my visit to Grimsby and 'Meggies'.

I'm saying yer less likely to have kids if your bodily fluids are spread over a gym sock.

Well said, we were on those who fell in that situation my OH was made redundant after 2 years of our move with the first round of GFC, even thought we didn't apply at first but we were so glad there was something there to help us out. since then my OH got job & we are quiet happy to pay back 20 times more than what we got.
This tax year we hardly got anything back as his wages are very high & we aren't entitle to much return.
Next year we won't get anything back, now that I have job, we are so glad to be able to pay into a system that support you when you are down on your luck.;)

To be fair you are using it as intended - a safety net for those down on their luck. Where l currently live in Cairns there is a marina with plenty of live aboard families (also on the buoys in the river) who do cash in hand work to compliment their child benefits (which they've been claiming permanently for a decade or so) and have no intention of ever seeking tax paying work. Not everyone is so honest and upstanding.

It's not up to me to judge them, if centerlink catch them I'm sure they pay for it big time.

No, you're right, I shouldn't judge them either yet a little piece of me finds it irritating.

I do wish you'd all stop hijacking my hijack and recommend some things to see and do on the NSW South Coast. :sneaky:

Thanks Bix, actually I agreed with one of your earlier post about the British benefit scroungers living in Australia, I hate claiming benefits from the country that I was born in and contributed into all my life, and the thought of emigrating to Australia and claiming their benefits abhors me, One of the reasons I am trying to find employment before I arrive in Australia, to be honest I was surprised to read that immigrants are allowed to claim benefits as soon as they arrive,I thought it was at least 2 years

Personally, I don't understand why people are so against claiming benefits in any country they might be entitled to, in them. I sometimes think it is misplaced pride.

I can understand why people would feel embarassed about claiming some allowances on arrival - but hey - if it's there take it and be discreet. It's a big circle as far as I am concerned.

We've booked Quay too. Best restaurant in Sydney (and we've been, so we know how good it is) and this time there's no ship in so we might actually be able to see the Opera House.

Now, what else to do...(Opera High Tea is on the list, can't book it yet though.) God it's awful having to do all these lovely things myself, just to entertain people. :(

Restaurants! I've got a table at the Press Club, Melbourne next weekend. Didn't think I'd get a table at such short notice. We're having their course of degustation...listed as the symposium degustation...

Online reviewers complain that there are too many people wishing to be seen in there. Well at the prices they list, I'd want to see who else was there...

Got a hotel around the corner too.

Didn't realise that you were talking about that south coast, with all the talk about Padstow, I thought you meant the south coast of England:lol:.
