She was a strong willed woman who didn't suffer fools gladly. MAybe if she was a man it would have been more acceptable to you.

Don't know why you translate that as a dictator. Try Stalin, Hitler, Pinochet, Mao, no majority ever voted for them.

And what are these 10 republicans you mentioned? They wouldn't happen to be terrorists that killed lots of innocent people by any chance?

I'm just guessing they are in prison for killing people, which last time I checked was a good idea. Doesn't matter if you claim a higher political ideal, its not your perogative to decide who lives or dies just because they disagree with you.

And while we were talking about dicatorships.. democratic civilisations go with the will of the majority of the people. Thats why Magaret Thatcher was elected 3 times. On the other hand, the majority of the people in Northern Ireland were quite happy to be part of the UK, thats why they got randomly blown up by Sinn Fein/IRA.

So who sounds more like they were listening more to the will of the people?

When I was a kid, I remember watching on telly (the news) a harmless old man (he was in his 80's) doddering very carefully into a court room... standing there as long as he could without assistance.. (not long).. he was old.. he was frail.. he appeared and probably was at this point harmless and was definately very very old...

Of course, he was still tried as a Nazi criminal who "Allegedly" murdered loads of Jewish people etc etc...

People in power, politicians, people in war, whether you agree or disagree with their actions, are still accountable for their life-times work.. regardless of their age.

OK.. so do I agree with the whole "glad someone is dead" melarky? No... I probably don't.. I don't actually think I have that sort of mentality.. but then again, no one has inteferred with my life or friends to the extent that I wish anyone dead.. I suppose and am grateful for that..
