Thatcher dead!

I'm not convinced by this argument.
A debate is a structured form of argument where persons with differing views discuss a topic, usually in a civil and gracious fashion.
I haven't seen any civility or grace here, just a group of people wishing that somebody they have never met in person was dead.
Whatever your views on Thatcher, this sort of behaviour is completely contrary to the concept of debate - not even politicians stoop this low.
If you wish somebody dead, then, for your own reasons, that's your thought. But attempting to dress it up as some sort of stimulating intellectual activity is simply retarded, and demonstrates more about your ability to structure argument than about anything else.

For the record, I see nothing wrong with wishing an evil dictator's death, as do many people.
I'm waiting for the insults.....

Well said Swervo. A debate might involve the discussion of pros and cons of the Thatcher policies; wishing death on an 84 year old is not debating and is an opinion better kept to oneself, certainly in a civilised society. Amazing that somebody thinks it is acceptable to express extreme views like this but then gets huffy and hints at racism when somebody else refers to a Scot as Scottish!
What has racism got to do with wishing Thatcher dead?
Why shouldn't I discuss wishing the death of an 84 year old dictator thats lived the life of luxury whilst others have suffered at her hands?
To suit your sensitive self?

I'll admit trialling the poll tax on the Scots was a mistake.

Because you claimed that this was a debate, not merely wishing somebody dead. If this is, as you claim, a debate, then you should come up with some evidence and facts to support your assertions.
Because you seem unable to discuss the topic without resorting to vitreol and diatribe, I believe that your skills as a debater should rightly be called into question.
If you've just come on here to run the old woman down, then just admit it - don't dress your actions up as something that they are not.

yawn, ok I'm bored with you now, you are obviously some kind of super intellectual and I reallyh don't want to be here all night arguing with all the little Englunders. Why would I just come on here to run the old woman down? Why would I dress my actions up as something they are not? I made comments on a thread about MT, along with others. Simple as that, I'm not trying to do anything other than be honest.

This probably isn't worth pursuing but thatcher wasn't an "evil dictator". She was an elected politician who clearly upset some Scottish (and other) people when she worked out that Britain could no longer compete as a manufacturer and she tried to modernise the country into a services-based economy. This is why you play solitaire at your PC all day at work instead of work down a mine.
I'll admit trialling the poll tax on the Scots was a mistake.

- I play solitaire? Since when? I work all day? - since when?

No, I just think that you should be willing to support your claims with some facts and evidence, which you clearly seem unable to do.
It was you who claimed that you were debating. I merely conjectured that what you were doing wasn't really a debate, just a series of insults and unsubstantiated vitriolic statements.
And now you have been asked to support your statements, you decline to continue because you can't be bothered with the little Englunders.

Most people outside of a small patch of the South East of England suffered due to Thatchers policies. Scottish people suffered more than most due to the use of us a guinea pigs in her policies before she introduced them elsewhere in the UK (or didn't as the case may be). It is a fact that she used Scotland as a trial area for policies because of the Labour majority there.
She left families devastated by her policies, people lost jobs then had restricted access to social security to live on so turned to crime to support families. Some may not call her a dictator, but if you had to live through the effect of her policies you would liken her to that. I lost my house because of her introduction of using the Scots as a trial for the Poll Tax.
If she had the vision to see that the UK was not a manufacturing country and needed to turn to be a service country, why couldn't she have the vision to see the fall out of this change and put in place assistance to help families not living in the South East of England during the process.
I won't be dissapointed when she dies.

I seem to remember me being called a moron by someone else, and retarded by you.
Is that acceptable? Yes of course it is lovey.
What claims do I have to produce facts and evidence for? You are bordering on the riduculous now and all I can see is a person that wants to insult by trying to sound clever.
I made some comments - I don't see where I have to supply facts and evidence.
Maybe you can do it for me, whatever they are.

I have no idea what you mean by "your sensitive self". Unless you mean somebody that does not go around wishing death to others is "sensitive". If it does then I am very proud to be sensitive.
