Your fiance's visa does sound more magnificent than ours, but like you say, at least we have it, and at least we are off now to sunnier climes!! Well sunnnier when the rain eventually stops and the flood warnings go til then maybe I should say "warmer climes"

Getting married in May in Cairns! Not actually decided a venue .... or anything for that matter - well obviously I've decided on the groom we might need to put the date back a month but our celebrant has agreed to that possibility, so thats good! I quite like the idea of a beach wedding, except that knowing my luck I would choose the one rainy day in the month!!

Just having a relatively small do - its a second marriage for both of us - but need it to be a little bit airy fairy and floaty for the sake of my little girl. Still in a bit of a tizz over the what to wear, I think I wont be able to picture WHERE I get married til I have a better idea of what I will be wearing. Pffffft I'm so not very good at this sort of thing hehehe

True!!

If you are having small do, it shouldnt be too stressful!! we are having 70 guests, 60 of them being in OZ and 40 odd my fiances family and family friends. Everything is booked and only need to sort out little things now. You can make a wedding as easy or confusing to organise as you want, all depends what you want. It wil all fall into place.

Fingers crosseed the rain wil stop!!

Can't wait for my wedding on the April 19th of this year, me and my Oz partner are going back to England to have our wedding as he wanted all my family to be there. Some of his family are flying over to the wedding and to explore Europe.
We are having a church wedding followed by the traditional Reception Meal and of course the party!. Hopefuly about 100 people are coming to the wedding ceromany (If everyone invited comes that is) and to the "Family meal" there is about 48 people then it all shoots up agian at the night do.

Within 1 1/2 months we had the church the hotel photographer all booked. Now we have all that plus the flowers, recently picked up my wedding dress !!! , the suits we are getting when we get back to England.

Hope it doesn't rain on our wedding day April is known for it's April showers!!.

Good luck with all the weddings !.

I wouldn't worry - I only work 27 hours and am off on maternity just now, I sponsered too. I just included my payslips but also wrote a note explaining that my husband provided the main income and put in copies of his last 2 p60s. I don't think they're really concerned about the ammount you earn, its more about if your relationship will last. You are working after all, a lot of people don't & still get visas.

On a better note - we've got our house sold I think!!! Got a very good offer in yesterday & they want in 23rd April. OMG - we could be in Oz by may. Just have to get hubbie a job but might wait till we're there first YEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I am applying for the Spouse Visa soon, i have been in Australia for the past 6 months and found it hard to find employment here for one good reason employers were not going to let me have the month off i needed to get married. This happend a total of about 5 times, in the end we decided just to find work when i get back from England.

Will they be a problem with me not having employment ?. I have tried, but are they going to see it that way?.

Hi,

Thats a real shame, thats the only reason me and my aussie fiance are holding off emigrating now (as got my pmv) cos our wedding isnt until July and we thought employers wouldnt give us a month off. I would just explain this in an statement to immigration saying you have looked etc, even include proof of looking i.e emails and job rejections, even provide some contact names of peeps you have contacted about jobs - I have been told the fact that your relationship is genuine is more important than what you earn and as long as you can show you are capable of working. Dont worry i totally understand your concerns though - its hard not to worry about these things. Myabe stop being so honest with employers, maybe its worth getting a casual position until the wedding, or join some temping agencies, even signing up with them is proof you are looking. Good luck

hi nattie22 - how long before your wedding in the UK are you going back? My sister currently lives in OZ and wanted to get married back in the England (to her Kiwi partner, she is English) but was told that both parties have to be resident in the UK for at least 3 weeks before the wedding - which wasn't possible for them due to work and wanting a honeymoon afer the wedding. They are now considering Scotland as there is no residency requirement there.

Hi All,

Just a quick question as having major panic. Applying for Spouse visa OH the Brit, been for medicals today and doctors questioning why child not having medicals. Child has dual nationality and holds Australian passport, I was under the impression that she would not need medicals. Is this right or have I got it all wrong!!!!!!!! Case Officer never asked for her to have medicals! Thanks in advance for all your replies.

If your daughter has dual nationality and holds an Australian passport then she has the right to live in Australia already and so isn't applying as a dependant child included on your husbands application. I really don't think you have anything to worry about - thats my understanding anyway!

Its mad how the slightest thing can get us all in a tizzwazz - suddenly logic goes out the window - i did that so many times

Good luck with it all !!

Hi, your daughter does not need to have a medical as she is already an Aussie citizen. Kate
