Hello!! I know who you are too!!

Things with me are good! We leave in 3 weeks and 4 days (not that I'm counting or anything ) I'm a little bit nervous but also excited. Went to Essex to say goodbye to some of the family this weekend That was a bit emotional!! All in all though, things are going well and I'm looking forward to going home!

How about you??

They are already living together...she's a brasen hussy!!!

I know I haven't been a member here for very long, but just wanted to share my good news with people who will truly understand how BIG the news is!!

Got my email this evening at 7pm (think it got held up in cyber space for a bit!) to say that my daughter and I have been granted our visas!!!! I promptly burst into tears!! Then I had to wait an hour before I could tell my fiance the good news!! AND I couldnt tell anyone else as I'd promised he would be the first to know, but i didnt like to wake him up as its a work day! Bottling up the good news has given me a stonking headache - oooooooh I'm all excited!!

Took two weeks from the date our application arrived til the grant email which I think is pretty impressive! I'm so happy I don't quite know what to do apart from skip round the house randomly annoying my family!

Congratulations on your good news. It's such a relief when you get the visa.

Congrats,

I came here in 2001 on a 457, did the obligatory 2 years with the sponsor and started the spouse visa process then, overall once we had collated all the documentation and checks it took about 3 months, once lodged it took days, I think about a week or two. We did it ourselves with some help from diplomatic friends and it cost us around 2K aussie, including police checks, lodgment fee and medicals.

Meanwhile In 2005 we applied and got a PND (Post Nuptial Declaration) that allows my wife to have Irish Citzenship, the Kids get it automatically, that took about 10 minutes to lodge, and 18 months to get an answer telling us to send 120 Euro in a cashiers check only from an obscure branch of an Aussie Bank which actually cost us 300 aud including fee and send it by secret lepreauchan (I can say that because I'm Irish) to an address in dublin where we then heard nothing for another 6 months and finally last year out of the blue a nice laminated citizenship certificate arrived.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes!!

I hardly slept last night - still buzzing away!! Now I just need to find my sensible head and start thinking of all the things I need to get done before we go! Want to book our tickets as soon as we get our passports back .... so I suppose that should be Number 1 on the list ... "Send off passports!" My little girl is so excited too and is already starting her packing ... essentials which mainly seem to be cuddly toys and random odds and ends including a coaster

Wow! That's really exciting! You should have a chart up on your wall so you can cross the days off .

Things are going well for us too. Plans for the wedding (on 7th June, which is coming round fast!) are going well, and we've got our flights sorted and got the visa etc for aftwerwards (we leave the UK about 6 weeks after the wedding). So we're getting there. We're in the process of selling our flat to the guy who owns the flat downstairs so hopefully that'll all go smoothly..... so yeah, I don't think we're going to have time to get bored over the next few months!

Hi fellow Spouses,

Been an avid reader of the Spouse visa circle forum which has helped greatly with the preparation of my temp spouse visa application. Finally submitted it to Aus House which they received on 21/02/08 and medicals were received 26/02/08. The following day I received our original evidence back which I submitted and two of my photos. Thought this was odd as the application form states to send four which I did. I'm presuming I sent too much evidence hence it coming back straight away but as for the photos I'm not too sure. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any help would appreciated.

Cheers

Hi I got extra photos back as well. If there was any kind of problem you would of received an email or phonecall. My OH had a couple of calls, a minor glitch. Visa received the day after Australia day

when i sent off the OH application I also included his passport, we got it all back with VIsa less than two weeks later. Probly would of been even quicker only there was a minor glitch that needed checking out ( meds were done last MAY or thereabouts, the case officer was trying to get an extension )
Hopefully we will be leaving the week beginning the 20 april.
Just waiting on a date to exchange contracts etc.
Good luck, you should be hearing something soon.

Just wondered how most people are notified they have been granted their visa. Via Post or e-mail?

Thanks again.

Hi everyone

We moved from Perth to Melbourne just after my provisional residency visa was granted after stage one. This was in October 2006. We applied for the visa on 17 April 2006. I sent in a change of address form when we moved.

We're using an agent and I believe she is the person designated to receive all of our communication. Neither we nor she has received any letter asking for my evidence and forms for stage two and I'm trying to find out when I will receive my paperwork. Originally she told us two months before the two year anniversary after application for stg 1. So that date passed on 17/2/08.

Could anyone tell me what happens to your file when you move interstate? Would the Melbourne office now have my file and is it worth a trip to DIAC's offices here to enquire that they have my file and when I should receive my paperwork? I just don't want it end up getting lost or overlooked becaused we moved. Do they assign a new CO regardless between stages one and two?

Many thanks in advance for any guidance you can give me...

Cheers,
Andrea
