Haven't got online access to credit card & hubbie is away - its his card so don't think they'd let me check it! He'll be back tommorrow and he can check. I just want everything to happen yesterday. I'm not usually this impatient - honestly!!!

Hi All,

Need some advice pleaseeeee....Sent OH Spouse Visa application off last Thursday but as yet not had any e-mails. How long does it take for the embassy to get in contact. Front loaded the Police Clearance but not the medicals. Should I be worried or am I just over anxious. Thinking of booking medicals for next week when children are off is this wise or should I wait for the embassy to get in contact?? If we do front load the medical do I need to download any forms? or do they have all the forms at the medical centre Also do I need to take any ID? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, I didn't hear back from embassy until a good week after sending everything off, so don't let that worry you.
If you're confident your visa will be successful, then getting your meds done will speed everything up. Yes you need a form 4 the medical and the xray - although your children won't need xray don't think. Can get forms from immigration website under 'all forms section'.
Just bear in mind that some medical centres have long waiting lists so you might not get an appointment any time soon.
And yes, you need to take your passport, but when you book your appt., the receptionist should tell you all this.

Good luck!

You should here something soon. I'd get your medicals done as soon as you can, no need to wait for embassy contact. I had to take copies of the forms thatI downloaded from the Immigration website & my passport with me to the my medical - but when you book the appointment, they should let you know what you need to bring along. (what Becca W said above me!)

I sent mine off special delivery on saturday, it arrived on tuesday. We haven't had anything back yet either. Just wondering if anyone knows why some are processed so quickly and some take a couple of months? There doesn't appear to be any pattern. Maybe just depends on your case officer or the evidence you supply. Good luck anyway morcpom!!!

Yes, frontloaded everything, just hope I have enough evidence. I don't think I've included as much as a lot of people,
I'm a chucker - don't keep anything like invitations etc! However because we've got 4 kids, joint bank & mortgage statements etc they'll maybe see this as enough. Just forgot as well - typed an australian values statement and forgot to put it in. I have it all ready though if they request it.

I don't really mind if it takes a couple of months as long as we get it. I would just like some confirmation incase we get an offer for the house. In scotland once you've agreed on terms like entry date etc you sign a contract and you can't get out of it. So if we get an offer, It would just be nice to know the visa was sorted so we could accept it. If we sold our house and the visa didn't go through then we'd be homeless!!! Can't see that happening but you just never know. The upside is that once the deals done the buyer can't back out either so thats good. Hopefully won't be long!

Im sure you wil be fine!! \Mortgage staements etc etc is enough to prove your relationship, joint bank accounts and 4 kids. I dont know why mine came through so quick - i was quite shocked!! But I frontloaded everything and didnt have any exsisting medical issues, didnt go overboard on proof of relationship - but provided 2 years worth of pics, joint bank accouts, proof of buying a house - solicitor letters etc etc, car insurnace, joint proof of joining a swimming club, emails from family and friends and 3 declarations - im sure you wil be fine. Did you get Aussie passports for your kids ? Or are they included on application ? Do not worry - no news is good news. They only contact you when your visa has been approved or they need something else . If your application is valid and you pass meds and police checks you wil be fine! I know its stressful, trust me I do, I stil need to apply for my spouse after my PMV visa runs out so wil go through it all again, but less forms to fil and no med or police checks. Breath deeply - you are nearly there!! Everythig will fall into place, thats what my mum keep son telling me and she is old and wise - like an OWL!!
