Re: The Official Loners Thread
helllo all!
New loner here, have started the ball rolling, have had 2 phone interviews (with same company in oz) and things are looking promising.
After spending the entire morning reading this thread I think a SW london catch up will be good!
Anyone going to the expo on Saturday, oh, and any Project managers out there?

Looks as though i will be placed in the head office in Sydney to begin with but realistically I will be placed near Brisbane. I am a Senior Project Manager in Construction/Engineering - have specialised in rail for the past 8 years...

Re: The Official Loners Thread
Hi, am still considering if I should go the 175 route for 'independence' (if that makes sense) but I suppose the 457 will be quicker (tell me if I am wrong!) and cheaper (for me) plus they may offer a relocation package...still up for negotiation at this point.

Not into project, but mainly site management BSc (Hons) Construction.
I already have a 136 MODL visa, which I have to say for me was quite easy to get, and not at all taxing. It only took about 5 months, from start to grant.
I would imagine the same would apply to you, as I assume you have the qualifications.
This would allow you to work for that company, but also allow you to work for anyone else if you didn't like it.
Also allows you to work anywhere in OZ as well, not area specific.
Hope this helps,
Alan.

None if I can help it. !!
I'm taking as long as it takes to drive right round Australia first, before deciding where to stay put.
I'm lucky as I was an apprentice joiner, prior to going to Uni, so I should be able to get temporary work anywhere.
