A shame because the boys are nagging me for laptops. Hmmm... but the prices do look okay-ish

I bought a laptop for $300 last week - a Compaq CQ43. It's not going to win any awards for performance but for what I want it for; watching movies and internet, it's perfect. In fact, it's optimised for video.

A top bargain.

Got my last one from HN, great computer for the price. Mind you, I like them. Never had a problem and always manage to get a bargain

That's a good price. Where did you buy it?

Except for HN fighting tooth and nail against even justified refunds I find them to be mostly okay.

Actually thats something I miss: The "yes of course" attitude towards refunds that we enjoyed in the UK. Here we can still get refunds but sometimes greater powers of pursuasion have to be deployed to secure them.

It was in a clearance sale at JB. They wanted $325 for it but I got them down to $300. It only came with 2Gb of RAM, so I bought an extra 2Gb from PLE for $19.

Took the off-school-cos-its-closed kids to HN this morning and including accessories I ended up spending over $1700. Oops

We have a route we follow that takes in the meadows, rocko palm beach signs, up through safety bay area passing penguin island views, through warnbro.. beach side, up through portkennedy then back down the main drag to rocko...

We stop for a take away coffee and a sit on the beach too.... If there's a lot to talk about, or the idea seems good.... Or just if we want a bit of extra time to ourselves...
