Anyway, the Dutch writer(illustrator?) Dick Bruna made Nijntje famous in his books.
These books were so popular, that they were translated into English. In the English version, Nijntje became... Oh, oops, looked it up, it's not Mixie, it's Miffy. Right, never mind.
Anyway, Nijntje is the short(and childish) version of Konijn, which means Rabbit. So really I called my rabbit 'Rabbit' (along with millions of other dutch kids ;-)
