Yes, but you get some people that slate Australia and there are pefectly affordable, non-boring, cultural areas of Australia.

My point is that its more about the 'person' and what they take from where they live. You can get 2 people live in the exact same place, one will find it boring, the other, exciting. One will experience bad service, the other, excellent service. One will feel homesick, one will fit in.

Too many people on this forum take 'their' experiences and preach that its gospel, and if people dont except their experiences as 'the way it is' then its not their problem and I have seen them become downright rude about it. I do mean this from both sides of the fence, UK and Australia.

'Experiences' are such a personal thing. Post your 'experiences' but consider them like an opinion, because no ones will be the same and not everyone is going to agree with them.

Do you post to correct the slagging that Britain gets by would-be migrants (as much as correcting the negatives about Australia?) :)

I can't think *anyone* would take a post as being the ultimate word on anything - they are obviously personal opinions and perfectly valid for being so.

I would take it that your avatar expresses an opinion of everyone on this site - or is it to be taken as gospel <g>.

I dont think I 'correct' anyone. The main thing that would get me wound up on this forum is the attitude of some posters and they way they try to put across their 'opinions' and 'experience'. But thats a personal thing, and yes, sometimes I should shuddup, but I cant be perfect all the time ;)

I didnt say people take the 'experiences' as gospel, I said some give their 'experiences' as gospel. Big difference.

:D

Oh, and as for my avatar, if you think its directed at you(universal you, not you you), then it is....I cant stop that....:p

Take care.

still love gordon but I got insulted a few times because I liked him so took the avatar off.

I can't remember who said it this past week, think it was Possums but can't be sure. Come for the pull of Australia, not for the push of Britain. Britain has lots of good things, lots of bad things. Australia has lots of good things, lots of bad things. Its finding your own little niche in the world, you may come here and Australia may not be it and you may realise that for all the faults you saw in England it is still home. Nothing wrong with that but until you have been, seen, worn the t-shirt then I would reserve judgement and take the rose tinted specs off.

I'd go with both of those. Both countries best areas are becoming scarce though - that's the problem. If you can't afford a decent area in the Uk nor in Australia then you are stuffed. Nothing will help someone out of their little misery here. You have 2 options - stick with what you know, or try a change!

I think some of you have misunderstood what i meant. What i meant was that if you dwell on what might happen you will eventually feel like a victim without being one. And yes i do know what it is like to be a victim, when we lived in England we were burgled 4 times and had our car stolen and broken into on numerous occasions.
