How has your day been?

Re: How has your day been?
Worried about MIL- she has had a gastroscopy, and phoned us to tell us that they wanted her back for more tests as they weren't happy. They wanted her in before Xmas, (the day after she got her results) but she refused as she didn't want to be kept in, so will go in on Friday. She is 80 and not generally in very good health.
We can't afford to go back so soon after leaving.

Lazy day on the beach, after the spotlight sale of course, slightly burned where the sun screen didn't get put.... No, VERY burned where the sunscreen wasn't... Few beers, good food and MIL sat far enough away for me not to be able to makenout what she was saying...... Sweet.

Slept through yesterday Up all night chatting to people back home, surfaced today about 7 pm to find a friend ringing me wanting info on tourist visas, apparently I'm "good at that stuff", so I've had 5 pints so far on the strength of the info I've learnt in 12 years on here Now en route to the city for a night of football on TV

Was delighted when MIL presented us with 2 bottles of jacks and two bottles of Cointreau this evening..... We have never asked for (nor received) any contribution for her extended stays before.... Six weeks this time.... She is a "pensioner" after all... And family....
Was slightly less delighted when she presented us with the bill for them and said she really needed the money by weekend please

How about telling her you now have different tastes, so that she's stuck with them?!

Present her with the bill for her food. You have so many mouths to feed that one more is putting an unnecessary burden on the family budget. And you need the money before the next shopping trip.

Lots of family here at present.... First time we've had all four of our kids back under one roof in 6 years.
Enjoyable day, it's a bit difficult catering for one Vegan, one Vegetarian and two of those high protein fitness buff type people... However we got through it relatively unscathed even if the Kitchen was incredibly busy with different needs.
2nd Daughter has moved back from Perth... Walked away from her NBN job as a project coordinator, to become a personal trainer over here around Sandringham way. Fiancee is carrying on at Fifo in Port Hedland. She became very healthy over there... probably able to spend the time easier looking after herself.
Perths been good to and for her though.....
