India made a decent fist of it yesterday, shame it took until the last day of the last Test.

England deserved to win, obviously. Will be interesting to see SA's progress now before England take on Pakistan in the New Year.

The ODIs will be a bit of fun and the one-off game against Ireland will give the up and comers a chance to impress. Should be closer than the Test series too.

I have just secured tickets for the Aus vs NZ Test at the Gabba (as part of my cricket team's annual boozy event), don't all bite my hand off and offer me inflated prices now

Absolute humiliation for India, I cant see any other team out there with the incredible depth and ability of England at the moment.
It's a shame the whole series and England becoming No 1 didn't rate a mention in the sports news.

Watch SBS news at 7 they have had highlights most days all series, other channels have reported on it as well but SBS and ABC are the best. Fox sports has shown the entire series as well.

Well done to England, they are playing with such confidence at the moment and have that belief that they always can win. They could easily have just taken the foot off the pedal yesterday and just seen the match out for a draw but they stuck to there guns and as soon as they made a breakthrough they piled on the pressure.

Tim Bresnan has played 10 Tests (most vs tough opposition) and ENG have won 'em all! He now has a test batting average of 45.42 and a test bowling average of 23.60. These are very serious all-rounder stats.

So we continue with the four bowler policy? Even out there on the flat tracks?

Hmmm, good question. Think it has to be two spinners. I'm sure they'll manage though.

Couple of hundred overs on Indian wickets will sort out that bowling average. Still, a good effort, and while the average flatters him a bit he's a fine player who walk into any other test team. The fact that he's not sure of his place in the English side just shows how strong they are.

For anyone who wants to cast a shadow on a bit of well deserved crowing, walk the 1990s in the shoes of an England cricket supporter.

Two spinners, depends on the pitch, obviously (Pakistan aren't playing 'at home') I reckon with Monty on board India would have been dispatched even quicker at the Oval.

But hey, they were easily good enough
