Re: England v India, who is going to win
And sometimes things change for the worse...
But let's be optimistic. Let's hope South Africa can put up a better fight than India when they meet England. No matter what the actual ICC rankings say, we won't know who's the best test team until that happens.

That's true. Let's face it, India are generally not a good away team, and they are not really interested in test cricket anyway - T20, IPL is their thing. They have been very poor on this tour. Tendulkar is a great batsman no doubt, but most of his success has been at home, where pitches are prepared for him. Compare that to someone like Ricky Ponting, who has a fantastic record all over the world.

Of the 51 centuries he has to his name in tests, 22 of them were scored in India (less than half). 29 were scored away from Indian soil. His average at home is 56.93 and 55.73 away.
Ponting on the other hand of his 39 test tons, 21 were on home soil (ie: more than 50%) whereas 18 were away. His average at home is 57.52 whereas his away average is only 48.73.
If anything the stats would suggest the complete opposite of your assessment.

And the Don thought Tendulkar was the only batsman who came anywhere close to him. No, Tendulkar is the best batsman of the modern era, clearly. And I'd rather have Kallis in my team than Ponting any day.

I used Ponting as an example as they are roughly the same age and both still playing. I'd prefer Kallis too but I never used him as an example as he does not have a good record against Australia (who dominated until recently).

I'd rate Lara ahead of Ponting and Kallis. Especially considering the poor bastard played in one of the worst test teams of all time for most of his career

unless India start to find something then I don't see any change from the rest of the series. In the 13 overs so far there have been two good wicket potential balls bowled!

75 without loss after one session ... Get 150 then declare.
