Done. I voted USA. Not exactly playing it dangerous, I know, but they're guaranteed the most medals.

86 years young, and the DIAMOND jubilee this year celebrates 60 years on the throne.

I was in tears at several points- how sad that Mohammed Ali could not even wave despite all his wife's promptings. Parkinsons has taken even that small ability to react.

Thought Paul M. was dreadful- what happened to the sound? And the Arctic monkey's cover version was out of tune- the lead singer sang under the notes by just a fraction most of the way through.

However I was bowled over by the performance where the chimneys came out of the ground, and loved the Olympic flame. It all seemed much more inclusive. Even Branagh was ok, and his face reflected the amazement of the crowd when he was not "speechifying".

Well done GB.

(I know my friend was drumming but didn't see her- her arms must be aching like mad!)

That's true, great place though it is, there are many other excellent hospitals - perhaps more appropriate to celebrate the whole NHS than just single out one, even though its probably the best known. What's the general feeling on the nursing grapevine about it?
