Hello All!!!
Its been ages since i've been on here...no surprise with a newborn who is filling my days with feeding, pooping and crying (oh and the odd cuddle..far too many
!! ) I love reading all about the moves to Tas , It re-ignites my real want to get out there..which kind of fades if you stop reading and researching about it doesn't it ??
I'll have to do a quick read through the last few posts to see whats been going on
So annoyed I cant seem to post a picture of Heidi on here...not even as my avatar
I'll keep on trying!!

Hi Zoe
Lovely to hear from you, I didn't like to keep sending you emails as I'm sure you have enough to keep you busy!!
Hope that she is not keeping you up too much at night, I had one good one and one terrible one, know how tough it can be. I bet the boys love her to bits, can you imagine when she is older with all those big brothers keeping an eye on her, any future boyfriends will have to impress them first

Nice to hear from you, try again with the photo, would love to see her

"Must be nice to have 4 big brothers to look out for you though...
My brother who's a year older than me used to look out for me - but he once stuck up for me over our local park when we was about 8 or 9 - and ended up getting thumped himself by a bigger lad.....but unfortunately because he was so annoyed about it - it meant he thumped me on the way home as it was my fault!

He's never let me forget that!

Hi Peter.
Sounds good about the queues!
That's great the way your post / paper & groceries if needed can all be delivered by the postman! Does sound like the way things happened years ago in the UK. That's one of the things i kind of like about Tassie i think.
Not sure if i could personally get used to the idea of living 18km away from my nearest shop though! That would take some getting used to!
When i handled Australian accounts at work Australia Post used to be one of our Sydney office's clients so i'm familiar with the name!
I love the photo...
How much of the Island have you had a chance to see - are there still places you would love to visit?

Yes our Postie system suits me.Yes well we bought our house off the internet in advance. And the vendors who are now great friends of ours emailed realms of stuff to us over the 5 months it took whilst they spent finding somewhere they really wanted to live.We said we were in no hurry and to take their time.
We spoke to them by phone regularly and quickly set up a long lasting friendship. The point of all this is to say we knew well in advance about the postie the distances we had to travel advantages /disadvantages of this that and the other. No i don't blame you about mileages to travel its a personal choice you chose.I feel like a real hypocrite saying all the time wait til you get here.It worked OK for us buying at a distance over the web but we had vendors as friends and two other friends living in Ulverstone who came here and viewed the place twice with the agent once asking could they have alooksee on our behalves without the agent. We had nearly 150 photos of the place and of the locality But it could have been a total disaster just buying off the Web and I still get cold shivers when I think what could have gone wrong.Again I say when i arrived the postie and mileages were factored into the fun.But its not for everybody.
O dear me no there is so much left to see yet I have hardly scratched the surface,I have all the west coast to see yet for example. But we have animals now not always ours but the Aussie lady who owns the cows and horses depends on us to do daily basics due to her changing circumstances and I as you know am still not quite right yet and can't yet face journeys over a couple of hours. So I have loads of sightseesing to look forward to...may never happen

Tonights pic is the outside of the Chudleigh Honey farm shop.Located beyond Deloraine on the Meander valley highway a great place to take kids and fun for adults too.For example honey icecream

Hi Kerry
she must be dinky to still be in newborn nappies at that age!
We bypassed the dinky bit with Jared - what with him being born over 10lb - he always seemed like a 2month old baby from the start!

Hi Peter.
You're on a bit earlier today - trying to throw me here with replying so early in the day!
So you bought your place on the internet - it seems more common for people to do that abroad than over here in the Uk doesnt it. I know that Teabag bought her house in Glenorchy from having seen it on the internet.
It was handy you had friends that could view on your behalf and take loads of snaps for you....

I think with me the rural bit would be too much of a shock to the system! Saying that it's all fields behind my house - but from the front we're in a highly populated residential area with bus stops at the bottom of the road and being 10mins from Romford town centre and 20 mins from London's Liverpool St....and 35 mins drive from Southend On Sea, i guess i'm just used to being near everything within 30-45mins journey!!!
I was quite humbled last night in work. We have people over from Bangalore training to take our work back with them. One of the young guys (who is only 21 - so he laughed when i said that next month i celebrate my 20th anniversary of working at this company as he was a baby when i started!).
Anyway he was saying that they absolutely love the UK because of what we have here. Apparently where he lives in Bangalore it takes him 2hours to journey into work - a distance of only 5km. He normally takes the bus but gets stuck in traffic - and used to cycle but had a few near misses because of the horrendous traffic...Where they are staying is just a 15min walk to work.
He also said that whilst over they'd been on the London Eye, seen Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and loads of London sights, they'd been to the Essex Coast and done touristy things like Madam Tussauds because he felt that he may never get another chance in life to do those things...

The conversation did get funny when i asked if he'd tried any English food (all he's had is burgers/chips etc). I was trying to describe a roast dinner but with not much luck - and when i mentioned yorkshire puddings - he completely lost me when i said not a dessert pudding!!!! Should have seen his face when puddings and gravy were mentioned in the same sentence!

Anyway, i like the photo's (keep em coming!)
The icecream sounds nice - i've had greek honey ice-cream before and it was nice - but i couldnt eat a whole tub of that flavour (whereas i could easily of others!
)....Cathy

Cheers PeterI'll have to ask Richard Branson next time i bump into him that question (alongwith the "can i have some of your money and a freebie holiday on Necker Island" question)

There's probably a reason for it...might have something to do with the PacificBlue airline going from NZ to Aus that they own as well....
I must admit i'm not sure i fancy flying on one of those new massive airbuses....
Andy would love to but i'd rather wait till they've been going a bit longer! Thats what i get for working in the Insurance Industry you see.....it's when you see how many claims that really get processed in the Aviation business
I would have loved to have flown on Concorde but that opportunity is now never going to present itself...

Cathy
