Hi Cathy.
Having had too many site problems to cope with over the last few weeks and the last 3-4 days in particular I have PM'd you.
Good luck to you and to everybody else on here
i will keep on looking in but not replying until the Site becomes stable again or my reception/transmissions become stable again.
They are trying hard to get things back to normal and for many of you thankfully I suspect you have few if any problems
Hope this transmits OK
Cheers Peter

I was trying to update my blog the other day and was getting really frustrated with it, so I saved it as a draft, then the next day I checked it and it posted the same post 3 times!! I had to delete 2 of them.

Oh well, i'll just have to tolerate those LOVELY hot summers then and be relieved when the cooler weather arrives!
After having a few baking hot days recently the weather has turned here yet again (no surprises there eh?)....

I've heard other people that have livestock say before that you become much more aware of life and death once you own animals....

I'm sure there was probably nothing that anyone could have known/done...

We've had to go out and buy an oil heater to boost the other end of our house, our wood burner just can't get the heat down that end and its frightfully nippy down there. It's on wheels so we can move it around, which is really handy. It goes in the bathroom when we are showering and bathing. Then at night it goes into the hall way and warms up the bedrooms, plus it has a timer which is really handy, we don't have to have it on continuously.
I'm really sad today, one of our sheep gave birth to twin lambs on saturday night and this morning I found one of them dead
I felt absolutely terrible, I think the cold winds in the night must have been too much for the little thing.

its funny i was only saying to Col yesterday how do the young ones cope at night, there are lots of baby cows around here at the moment ... dont know how the weathers been down your way but jeez what rain we had yesterday 16mm in Scottsdale
and it was thundering and lightning most of the night really eerie by the sea
the other thing i've noticed too Kerry is the sheep get shawn in winter??? whats that all about? <insert shivering smiley>
re the oil heater they are pretty good arent they we have one in the spare room but went to bunnings at the weekend and found an eco one with water in instead of oil its cheaper to run cost $100 but it seems to give more warmth out than the other. we've had it plugged in on low all the time sod it, will battle with the hydro bill when it comes I cant stand being cold.
I too am having probs takes ages for pages to load

Cathy yep the summer deffo outweighs the winter

Possoms Rain? what rain? We haven't had any decent rain in months and months, we need it soooo bad. Our soil here is very sandy and its just blowing away!! I watched the farmer plough his field at the weekend and I could see a plume of dust following him as he went. I reckon the mainland has had more rain than us.
My friend who lives just across the valley from us is on Tank water, they have 2 massive water tanks and they have had to get them filled twice this year. We are lucky to be on town water so not too much drama for us.

Hi who did you use for selling your house if you don't mind me asking. Still trying to sell ours and are going to try another agent. If you have any tips on selling too that would be great. And good luck with your move. You will love Tassie, tis a beauty.

We used a local company called McKinlays, don't think they are outside the Somerset area?
Don't really have tips for selling other than all the ones you've probably tried already eg, neutral decor, no clutter, tidy garden, each room has an obvious purpose, inviting front of house etc etc.
I'm sure you know all that already, I think in the current market, making sure you have got the price right as well, we had to drop an awful lot to get the sale which will no doubt have a knock on effect when we come to buy in Tas but we'll deal with that when we need to.
We can't wait to get there now

Sam
