You have had a slightly negative experience which is very useful for new migrants to know about. However you then turned it into a 'warning about ALL of Australia'. Many IT professionals move here from India and every other country in the world, have no problems finding work so whilst yours is a worthwhile and necessary warning it is not a blanket, one size fits all problem. Yes about the positives I told that I got a job in 14 days? Doesn't that encourage newcomers? and I also told how I got it? I told them to try to get in touch with the employers directly. I think that is a honest advice from my own personal experience. I don't see anything wrong in advising for their advantage. This post can be only bad for those agents who put sweet words in your ear and never call you back..
