Just as an aside , my only reason for posting on the forum is the fact i have experienced life in Oz both city and "bush" living and i have two sons still living there , one in Wagga Wagga and one in Canberra.
So i think if there is anything i can give a reasonable opinion on i like to do it.

I am now happily living in France , im retired, but i always have my wonderful memories of living in a great country and i reccomend any one thinking of moving ,to give it a go, dont knock it til you try it is my motto.

cheers all, Keith.

I doubt anyone's going to stay here just cos you told us never to live anywhere if you've never lived there before.

Nope that is not it!

I replied on this forum about a TV programme!

My point was how can starting at 5.30 am to do a 10 hour shift laying bricks in up to 35 deg improve your lifestyle?

Too many people in England do not understand just what a good life we have!

That was it. No dig at Australia. Just an observation.

The reason I watch the show is that It comes on a few minutes after I wake up, and I need 2 cups of tea and an hours tele before I can face getting up, having my breakfast, showering and the walking down to the village pub.

I only have 1 kid (at the mo) she's 3 months, and i would hate her to suffer the teen years here. It was dog eat dog when i was at high school and I just look at her and know that she deserves better than what I went through.

I think most people seriously considering moving to oz understand it won't be easy. And there always is the flight home if things turn to mush. Its going to be a long way off before I've saved up enough, and got things sorted for my visa, but I'm prepared to work hard for the next 6/7 years to get there.

I'm sure others here have worked hard to get their visas or are still working their way towards it. The uk has it's good points, but I can't think of any at the moment.

Just watched today's programme in Perth. Lovely to see a bit of Perth as that's where we are going. But I had to laugh again when I heard "Carramar" being described as being rural and in the country.

Worzel and thpinkpussycat, if you're reading this ... according to the BBC you're living in the country!

The heat day in and day out when you are working in it can be just as bad as the cold. Went to my sons school yesterday morning for a seniors function, the heat was unbearable 34c + humidity no air con in the room. Other parents here that are locals went home early to sit in air con. I am in Qld and it can be to hot for comfort every day, Roll on winter.
