Nowhere is perfect, remember that - but at the same time, a lot of people are better suited to Aus than I am!
2 weeks time I'll be in Bristol. I want it cold, wet, windy, and British

I'll swap! Anytime you likr. I only feel alive at night this time of year, been too hot all day to go out, right now it feels like an English summer (I'm actually in Brisbane). Off to bed shortly, knowing I'll wake up about 5 hours time in 35 degrees and blazing heat again. I've not got a cold, but I have raging sinuses from aircon at work. Cough for the same reason, it makes the air too dry.

Re: BBC - Wanted Down Under
Please dont kid yourself on the cost of living. Houses at this stage are still cheaper than UK, no doubt. But, keep an eye on SE QLD prices, 1200 migrants a week has caused a massive rental shortage, rents are going up, property prices have been steady for 3 years, interest rates are being tipped to steady, by the amount of sales around I think prices will start to move, developers have already started hiking the land prices again. Not a boom yet, but grumblings of movement.
Apart from that most stuff is the same or higher as UK (yes I do know the prices was there last week). Petrol is cheap, but most trade contractors quote for work over hundreds of klms, add a large vehicle full of equipment and petrol wont seem cheap. Food is ludicrously priced. You have many factors to consider if you have a family such as healthcare, you pay for kids glasses, dental, braces, specialists, prescriptions and significant contributions for education even if its a state school. Plus you must remember UK has some very competitive markets, be it food, airfares, books, clothing, there is not such competition here and as such prices will often be quite a nasty shock compared to UK.

We are in the US (we have our PR visa's ready to move) please have a a work with BBC-America so we can have the show over here! I would love to see it, my folks are in the UK and following it too.
Any idea's how we can get it over here?
Cheers
