Re: anyone applying july 2007
House sale progressing, no major problems, hoping to complete beginning of October. Have handed in my notice & officially finish end of October although with holiday, I should be done by 17th! OH finishes 5th Sept so gets to do all the sorting We are getting shipping quotes but it is difficult when we still don't know where we are heading. I have loads of job applications in, just waiting for responses.
What's happening with you?

Re: anyone applying july 2007
Just a quick update from me... We've now been in Melbourne for 2 weeks and we're finally over the jetlag and getting ourselves sorted out.
We've decided where we want to live, Yarraville, and think we might have even found a house to buy which is very exciting. Now trying to get our heads round the ozzie system and sort out how to actually buy the place. We've also got ourselves mobile, driving a second hand ford falcon around... it gets us from A to B. And the good news is that we've both managed to find Jobs until xmas (or thereabouts) which is a big relief.
Overall feeling very settled and happy, we're off up to the Alps tomorrow for a day of skiing and apparently the snow is excellent. Life is pretty much as we expected, and a lot less stressful than we feered.
Good luck to everyone making the move, and to those of you still waiting on your visas.

OK, so if you have the Ack, have you tried enquiring what is happening? I think that after this amount of time, you need to be pushing for a CO.

You could always use this link to try and find out.
http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/forms/gsm/post.htm
They aim to respond in 5 days. If you have used an agent, then the agent must make the enquiry.
(You weren't using the Capital Bonds for 5 points by any chance?).

no, we are not,(136 papers lodged 2st July )we sent an email and they say 'Once your application has been allocated to a Case Officer you will
receive further instructions if we require any additional documents to
process your application.
Please rest assured that our staff are doing their very best to ensure
that applications are processed as quickly as possible.'
but it take so long...to long..

We did not know we had a case officer until we used it and got a reply.
