Hello to everyone from sunny (but cold) Melbourne.

We've been out here since sat (stongly reccomend singapore air by the way great service and they didn't charge us for our vast amounts of excess baggage ) and have settled into a little rental in moonee ponds with our little cats who've survived quarantine well.

Bit of a manic start trying to get everything in order and we're still not online at home (at an internet cafe at the moment) so will do a proper update when we're sorted out there.

Silly question for the week.... When you go to validate can you set up your tax numbers and medicare etc etc???

Going to validate for 3wks in November but not going completly for two years as our son wishes to finish gcse's here and then finish the last two years of high school in oz and then do his degree there. Have a house to sell but not on the market as not sure if we will rent will see closer to the time

we have over 13 months , and nothing so far , no co, no visa 136 Skilled – MODL.
anyone get any visa for this Subclass ???

Applied for a 138 subclass australian family sponsored applied july 07 got ack nov 07 case officer dec 07 meds requested jan 08 and then son broke leg in three places and was in full leg cast for 3 months then had to recover walking on leg before med so there was a four month delay on our part med went end of june 08. July 08 new police checks required as two weeks out of date and visa granted 4/8/08. Validation 3 wks in november booking flights tomorrow.

Sorry hun, we sent off our 136 modl 27th July last year (was only received in August tho) and our visa was issued 29th April, we did send off our meds and PCC's in January tho before they were requested. Think the time frame depends on which MODL you have put in your application under and also if you are in a high risk country too, it's not fair keeping you waiting so long though regardless of any of that, they shoudl have all been processed within 12 months or at least have a CO. Hope you hear something soon.

Where has everyone else gone??? It's dreadfully quite on here these days

Welcome Mango, you do realise that all us applicants on this thread submitted our applications in 2007 don't you. The more the merrier obviously but just conscious of you feeling as though you are unfairly waiting when most people on here have got their visa's

I am here, trying to keep up with everything & still got my fingers crossed for those still waiting for news Mind you, they are getting very stiff & packing is very difficult so I really wish DIAC would hurry up for all our sakes!
