Hi all,

Just booked our accommodation for when we arrive! whoo-hoo! We have used a couple of houses that Emi-great.com have advertised, 1st week will be in La Estrada & then 7 weeks in Venice house which is right next to beach & has pool! can't wait to go now, we are really excited

Most of the major things have been booked now, but still undecided about a leaving party

Have also handed my notice in & leave a month today exactly Bank accounts sorted, still got to exchange money.

Oh & there was something else we had to do what was it, hmmm...... Oh yeah! GET JOBS!!

Chris

So your the reason we couldn't get in it the first week we are there!

Yes we have got it from 23rd Sept, don't forget to leave it clean & tidy for us

What is it they say, small world!

We are also having the airport pickup & have booked a hire car from John & Eve who run the website. What about you?

All the best,

Chris

BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER :curse: we were looking at booking the same one this week, but we have not exchange on the house which was supposed to have happen on monday, so will have to spend endless hours looking for anonther one.

We opened our bank accounts on the 7th July but still have not received our details which they said will take 10 days buy post. Who long did it take for yours to come through.

Hi Phillip

We're struggling to find a "nice" short term rental too. Think you're arriving before us (we land 24 October) so let us know if you find one and vice versa!

When we opened our bank account with the Commonwealth this end if took 2days but we had to validate it once we got to Aus then it took 5 working days to issue cards and another 2 weeks for our cheque book to arrive.

Good luck with the exchange

We registered with Westpac and got the info through about 2 weeks after faxing our details through. Just need to get around to sending them some money :-)

Shopped around a bit and found these houses the cheapest than B&Bs and motels and even caravan parks.

Cheers Sarah - yes I'm surprised that B&B's, motels etc are just as expensive as the furnished rentals! That'll be lovely for the kids (and Mum & Dad!)

Talk about a small world we've booked Jean Pierre with Eve & John from August 28th for 5 weeks (Flying out of Manchester 27th via Singapore Airlines) and we've also arranged pick up and Car hire with them - The extras that both Emi-grate and Poms In Perth offer really do make a difference after almost 24hrs travelling.

If anyone is still looking for accomadation in the Rockingham area try www.rockingham-tourism.com/selfcont.html

We've also opened accounts with Westpac and the details came in the post after about a week!!!

Hi Caggsy,

Have you looked at www.aussiemove.com. They seem to have a house available in Secret Harbour according to their calendar. It is called Tuarts Hill I think, you can book houses direct with them, we nearly booked ours through them but they didn't book more than 6 months in advance and we booked ours ages ago. There are quite a few on their and it might be worth a look.

Sorry it is called Tuarts Retreat, it doesn't have a pool and has only 3 bedrooms but things get booked up so well in advance you might be limited with what you can get. Hope you get something sorted.
