Not at all.
I don't intend to live too close to him.
I am only going because he would like his parents to try living in the colonies......we will split our time between the two countries

NO WAY!! I have this picture of you being about 70 years old, stuck to the chair infront of your PC answering threads on various websites whilst drinking cups of tea and cucumber sarnis, made by the maid (no crusts of course)!!
Cant imagine that you "get on well" with anyone!!

Hope it works out for you, my cousin lives in Sydney moved there about 3 years ago and my Aunt and Uncle have recently done the same purchased a property and now do 6 months in Sydney 6 months back in the UK!
Best of both worlds!!
(Didnt envisage you had a long suffering wife, I bet she is a lovely lady, she would have to be a saint to have put up with you!!

In all seriousness, good on you for giving it a go, not only for listening to your sons wishes but also moving (semi-permanently) out to Australia to!!

Thank you.
We are moving to Toowong.
Contrary to what people may think I like Adelaide...it is a nice city and I love the parks.
It is not where I would choose to live but would have done if my boy had stayed there.
The only fault I could find is that the fishing is not as good as some other places.....and that is what I do most of.

The Snapper and KG whiting are worth chasing but I prefer freshwater really.
I know ii is good in parts but often needs travelling some distance.
There are plenty of Bullsharks and threadfin salmon in the Brisbane river which will be a few minutes walk from my house.
