As I said earlier I was told about the problems in HC and Christie beach a few years ago....by a police officer..
The OP on this thread was raising this issue.....only to get shot down.
Surely people should also have this type of information and not simply the 'fluffy' bits.
....and where I live in the UK does not have more violent crime than Adelaide.....that is a silly generalisation.

The fluffy bits.....
should we be talking about crime then. The op miss lead it . as if it was the norm.
Thats what this is about . Its not the norm, is it.
The Norm is be straight with people, coming over to live.
Issues, wages
, cost of living
, house price rise
Trade cert's
But Crime is not a issue

Milly,
Dress it up all you want, I lived in Adelaide for 18 months, and I was not impressed with the Criminal History of the place, In Particular the Institutional aspect of the "Family" and just how little of the suspects have been brought to justice.
Not Good enough in my opinion, and definitely not good enough for my children. s8it sticks for a reason, and this is no different.

But Crime is no way one of them.
We Lived in a small village, in between preston and Blackpool in uk. Crime was a small issue, with drink culture, Huddies, race problems etc. Gangs in the mall.
Often shopped in Manchester. Again witnessed a few things, in the parking lot, Train station.
Lived out in Jo Burg south Africa..... Say no more.
I have never witnessed any problems or read about any problems, or ever felt threatened in anyway in Adelaide. And I have never Had anyone tell me about any either. Other than the obvious. SNOW TOWN

Went to melbourne for a weekend, had my handbag stolen in the casino. My daughter had a nutter run of with her mobile, in the centre shopping. All though she deserved it. He asked to borrow it as he need to make an important call.

I can only ask why, and the answer is not palatable
I have no confidence in them. And I am not willing to risk a hair on any of my children's heads to prove them right.

Petty crime aside, I do not have confidence in Adelaide Society to carry out full and thorough , exhaustive investigations of these sort of crimes in the future, when in the past they have clearly failed to do so.

Funny though the op that posted, was he not a forensic,

Or was that someone else.
But again its not a day to day issue. Like somethings.

A number of people mention Hallett Cove as a good suburb to live for migrants...it is lauded on a number of forums...we had heard some bad things about it and glad we avoided...see attached. Please make informed decisions when migrating. This included "gangs" such as Elite Hallett Cove, which was involved in a street brawl with police last weekend after its members gatecrashed a party at Seacliff.
Members of Elite Hallett Cove yesterday told The Advertiser they were predominantly Hallett Cove residents who had formed a gang to defend the suburb from attacks by rival youths.
One Year 12 student said people can join the gang if "they're hard enough, can prove themselves and have a reputation".
"It's been going for ages," he said.
"If a mate gets in trouble just for living in Hallett Cove, so Hallett Cove people start to back up each other and it goes from there. The Seaview people do the same thing."
Another member, 14, said he joined the gang after moving to Adelaide's southern suburbs about four years ago.
"You'll always have back-up and it's the thrill of getting in trouble with the cops," he said.
"People have been bottled, put in hospital, it's mainly at parties and on the street."
Det Supt Bray said local police stations were concentrating on groups such as Elite Hallett Cove while the Crime Gangs Task Force was focusing on the street gangs involved with bikies.
Their crimes have included violent robberies across the northern suburbs, where people have been bashed or stabbed while using ATMs or as their cars have been stolen.
The youths then have used the vehicles to commit armed hold-ups at service stations, pizza bars, video stores and hotel bottle-shops and gaming rooms, where staff are threatened with knives and other weapons. Det Supt Bray said police were becoming increasingly concerned about the youth gangs – and their propensity to use violence.

Mr Mover, I was ready to agree with everything you have written so far and then you spoil it by saying that FH is known as 'little Britain'.......now people won't come here either cos they think it is like HC
IMO if anyone listens to some of the crap spouted out by some folks and it prevents them from moving here....well more fool them!!!!!!
Now where did I put those rose tinted glasses
