It's not unlike the house next door here which looks set for auction or, more likely, compulsory demolition.

Now I'm no fan of cricket, but even I know that 58 isn't a great score.
England 58 all out as New Zealand dominate first Test in Auckland - BBC Sport
It'll be going through the motions now hoping for rain,

I think I would enjoy having a small home bussiness selling fish supplies online and such.

Seems to be a few people doing that as a hobby job.

Only problem is living in a rental and a condo doesnt seem possible as you need a bussiness license to buy wholesale.

Could you not get a home-based business license?

Apply for a business licence | City of Vancouver

http://vancouver.ca/doing-business/h...-business.aspx <- definition of home based business - if you sell goods without anyone coming to the premises, you should be ok.

Tropical or marine? Surely in Vancouver there must be enough wealthy people to support a marine fish/tank/supplies business? I know it's your hobby but are you genuinely knowledgable enough to sell your skills as a business? Brilliant if you can.

I have had numerous tropical tanks over the years, but never a marine tank. That's for when I build the millionaire property

Ill have to inquire with the property manager and see if they would permit an online only bussiness.

In the lease it says no commercial actiivty permitted and suppose this would be considered commercial but as there would be nobody coming to the building maybe it would be possible.

Both. I have been keeping aquariums since I was 10 or 11.

My parents were not keen on them so I did all the maintenance on my tanks.

When I wad around 16 I had 4 fresh and 2 marine.

Now I just have 2 relatively small and basic tanks. One fresh and one marine.

Most of the demand for aquarium maintenance is for commercial set ups which does require skills I dont have like plumbing and carpentry skills.

Fish care side though I am pretty knowlegeable at this point. Been reading and learning about fish for 30 or more years now.

There is a program in Oregon at a college in aquarium science which prepare one to work in a public aquarium.

I have looked into the program but not sure if I could get math skills high enough. Need to be able to do intermediate algebra along with an Written Experiential Assessment, 2 letters of reccomendation from an academic source.

Math is the most difficult to acheive. I have been working on upgrading math but its not gone well.

Math is why I have not gone back to school.

Every program I look into seems to require math.

Random question that I didn't feel important enough to make its own thread - when you go through CBP preclearance at YYZ, do they still stamp your passport? Last few times i've been to the US i've crossed by land and they don't stamp there / I use my NEXUS card so just curious.

We're renovating the kitchen, where the aquarium sits, and as part of that, I have a new tank and cabinet sitting in the garage. In due course the old one will be moved into the hall (somehow), the new one put in place (somehow) and the content of the old one transferred.

I've recently been following a marine forum and looking at videos of 500 and 600 gallon set ups (though mine isn't that big) and reading the questions. I've been quite shocked at how many are obviously in apartments or rented houses. People report all manner of humidity issues (complaints from other tenants) and some of the set ups are clearly taxing the strength of the floor.

It just seems bizarre to me to configure something that costs the price of a small car, and is difficult to move, in a rented flat.

We go to the NEXUS kiosks when entering through YYZ. The machine issues a white piece of paper which we hand over. No stamp...our PPs aren’t even looked at. In fact I have no stamps in my US PP...as I only use it to leave and enter the US and Canada.
