Surely you can book time off 4 months hence? Even an informal agreement with a coworker to swap shifts so you can get to the doc? You're not the only one who needs to make advance arrangements, it's all about how you manage your arrangements.

Take some positive action instead of saying things can't be done.

I can trade with a co-worker provided there is a co-worker who wants my shift and they are qualified. Last time I was not able to find someone to cover my shift.

It's too far in advance to do a trade at the moment, we have no idea what our schedules will be, but once it gets closer, I will attempt to trade.

Could you book three appointments with your doctor, then cancel two (far enough out not to take a penalty) when you know your work schedule? Screws with his system, for sure, but works better for yours! And allows other people to fill short-notice appointment slots that suddenly become available

I like your thinking.

It's not like you're taking something away from someone, a couple will just have a different time or different day.

But, Js, might this be a referral based appointment where this would be noticed, as opposed to calling a doc three times and no cross-referencing involved.?

It's a referral.

We may end up moving out of Vancouver by mid summer... So may not be here to even go to the appointment.

My job doesn't pay enough to support 2 people without disability, and based on what I average per month, we will hit the exemption early Sept, which means they will claw back 100% of disability and without disability in addition to my income, we can't live in Vancouver.

We are looking to moving up North, won't be the best place to live, but places can be found up there for 600-700/month rent wise.

Tis life I suppose, just not looking forward to crummy job I hate again.

It doesnt seem to be a horrible place but I have never been there.

We dont have a ton of options as we just have to go where rent is low.

Would prefer to stay in Vancouver and keep my job as I like it, but rent is killing us and there is no low rent places in Vancouver area.

Roseanne revival premier on Tuesday did well in the ratings.

Was the best watched show on TV with 18.1 million viewers.

It was especially popular with the 18 to 49 demographic which I am sure is in part more to do with people may age and a bit older who grew up with the original show.

Seems nostalgia is paying off for the networks.

No, really, I thought it looked okay. Probably better than an area of Vancouver with that level of rent.

I looked at some pics and did a bit of google streetmap driving.

It seems a little bigger than New Glasgow which was on our agenda a few years back - because at the time NS offered more affordable meds (but that changed) - and it was a place we could replicate house and rental property. New Glasgow looked okay too, badly thought of but, as usual, by folk who didn't know it, and liked by people who lived there.

Looks like you'd need to drive, but you already do.

Yeah a car would be required. Too far north to scooter all year.

Small communities have crummy transit generally.

Biggest downside is being so far from the border and Vancouver.

Have to get used to paying shipping to get fish supplies and fish...lol

Amazon seems to be getting worse. Ordered Monday.

Chose 1 day and they said Wed by 8p. Their courier called at 10am to ask when we would be home. We said all day. Courier said they would be there between 4 and 6. Never showed.

Called at 730p and told maybe by 9pm but for sure by 9am Thurs.

Thurs today and crickets.

Irritating.
