Well I'm a little gun shy around you. You should give me points for marrying a Yorkshire girl though.

Actually the Jag was given to me as payment for a job. I have since sold it, but it was a fun car for a few months but not my style.

You need not be...and of course you get points for marrying a Yorkshire lass.

You told me about the Jag...but I didn't realise you've sold it. Hope you got a good price...but in today's market...

Very true too. I expect we'll be seeing Natz app fees hit the $1000 mark before long and the I-90 (GC replacement) is currently $290. US passport app fee is only $100. Quite a difference.

i have found all these answers quite entertaining...

The Dual Citizenship appeals to me should we decide to head back to the UK for a period of time. I wish my wife had it for the UK which would make our future decisions MUCH easier!

Renewing the British Pp is waste of $265 in my opinion. Would you seriously hand over $265 to get through immigration a few minutes quicker?
you are an ideal candidate to renounce your British citizenship going by your posts on here ...here's the link to help you on your way >

She'll have to live in the UK for a few years, with the equivalent UK 'green card' status, just like you had to do here in the US. No getting around that, I'm afraid.

I look at that differently. Maybe the presidential election is not your cup of tea but I'm more interested in the local elections and issues. School levies, local services, mayor, etc.

That's right, it's different strokes for different folks, and exactly why I said that the choice is a "personal" decision.

Considering we'll routinely pay $4 for a cup of coffee, it all makes sense, doesn't it?

Personally I never go into "fourbucks", and never have.... could never forgive myself if I was suckered into paying that much for a cup of something that I can make at home for pennies, I guess that's why their profits and stocks have been falling steadily over the last year of so, people have suddenly wised to the idiocy of it all, and decided to buy McD's or Dunkin's for a quarter of the price.
So based on that, maybe we should we expect prices to fall in the future, not rise?

An additional criteria for becoming a USC ... just in my opinion ... you should want to be an American. That doesn't mean that you think this country is perfect, flawless, and the model for all that is good in the world. It doesn't mean that you are no longer loyal to the UK. It simply means that you have an interest in its future, and contributing when you can.

It's really none of their business where you have been. You are a US citizen arriving back into the USA. They can ask, but can't really do much if you don't tell them.
