That's the exception. The average American family has 2 kids now...some more, some less. Almost half of the U.S. population growth is due to immigration. If there was no immigration, we could see a population decline.

Could be. Afraid I'm not PC enough lol, I really thought (especially the prejudiced) just think of the latinos from Mexico as Mexicans (didn't bother with the hyphonation). I still think they probably do. When I lived in Arizona and heard about "the Mexicans" no distinction was made between legals and illegals.

And to tell you the truth, I could say - oh I met a Mexican guy - and he very well could be Mexican-American technically. I would have just though of it as country of origin, I certainly don't mean any harm by it.

So the distinction had truly escaped me. Don't know about her.

The Mexican culture is very popular in Texas. We have a huge population of people of Hispanic descent. The ranks of our politicians, bankers, lawyers, doctors and celebrities are FULL of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans. They are not looked down upon. They are a fully embraced and beloved part of Texas. What the shit-disturbers are talking about is the way SOME non-English speaking illegals get treated ..... which is basically akin to slavery. They are worked like farm animals by greedy employers and are resented by the working class for (real or imagined) the crime of taking away jobs because they will work for 2 -3 dollars per hour.

I'm sick and tired of stupid, clueless people telling me what the hell is going on here - when I live with it every single day - SO I THINK I KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON, OK?
