I'm sure if 9/11 and all that followed hadn't happened, and if Shrub had'nt been (re-???) elected, I wouldn't feel quite so despondent.
I am so sorry when people feel like that..despondent no way out (gosh you'll be suicidal soon with my help )
My sympathies are with you and all others who feel that way
Shrub, never heard that one before..good one
But you can look on the bright side there, only one more more year!

Man, I love 'em.

Barbeques. without the rain.

Ice in drinks.

Decent scrambled eggs.
I have never had good scrambled eggs here. They are always overcooked. I like mine creamy and runny.
I love the pumpkin candles and the BBQ's without the rain.
Roland, you know you love it here, so just come on over. Enjoy the fact that you love the US, you don't need us to validate that for you.

Yeah but it's STILL snowing here! Had about 5 more inches today! My mum's been telling me how gorgeous the weather has been there for weeks.

I did learn something new this year though: when the temp gets down to -6 F, the inside of your nose freezes and you get icey boogers.

Less wind though. I don't miss battling through the street with a brolly being torn out my hands. Although I don't walk anywhere anymore!

Thought you'd all like that

I love summer here! Soooo much better than Virginia where I had to stay by the a/c from May to September & my specs would steam up when I went outside.

aye, snot freeze is slightly unsettling ain't it...but on the plus side, -30F doesn't feel much worse than 10F

Ah VA but I got on well there as it was so hot everyone goes from AC to AC and barbecues were inside! As I don't like the heat got on well there

Here though if it's 85f they think it's nice and I'm the grumpy one finding a tree to sit under, moaning at the bugs and trying to fan myself with any bit of paper, while attempting to slaver on my 35 factor suncream while the Americans look on, like I'm from Mars and at the same time I'm trying to make friends

LOL I was trying to be polite and not say frozen snot It feels like crystals in yer nose!

I agree - once it gets to a certain temp, the nose thing is the only obvious difference.
In fact, I was outside in my pjs the other morning at about 6am having a ciggie & told my husband it was a nice day. When I looked at the thermometer, it was 12 F

ugh, I hated the weather in VA. You go from freezing a/c in the shops to the car where you'd melt to the seat & burn your hands on the steering wheel. I used to get headaches from all that hot & cold. and the sun is so bright I though my eyeballs would melt!

It was very bright driving though I always wore prescription sunglasses.
And after living there you realised why you don't want leather seats..if you are wearing shorts you could get 1st degree burns getting in a car

My OH had a minivan, an American one and the a/c on that was 1st rate within 10 secs got cool.
I on the other hand had a VW golf and the a/c was pathetic took ages to get cold though in the winter the heated seats was wonderful!

I never did get round to getting rx sunglasses.

Oh here's something nice.... I just went outside because I could hear a load tractor & one of our neighbours is ploughing out our driveway.
