Cool Visiting New York!

I will be visiting New York for 2 days at the end of January & I'll be making a list of all the places that are a must. There’s a lot of good info on Tom's thread (http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=395158), so that will help me. If anyone has any other ideas, I’d love to know, thanx!

Also, if anyone would like to meet up for a drink while I’m there, let me know!

Watch out New York!

Let me know which days and I will arrange a little vacation time. Don't want to have to be in the city when the whirlwind hits.

Fab! I'll have hubby & a Brit friend (male) with me, so feel free to bring someone along with you. I don't really mind where we go, something unique would be great, let me know if anything springs to mind. I like a bit of variety & something to write home about!!!

If you are looking for night life (and it's still there) I would recommend Vau(g)n (can't remember if there was a g in there) on Bleaker street. It's a cozy little wine/mixed drink/European beers bar. Also Houlahans has the best baked potatoe soup , and just to be kitchy, you should either try a hot dog or a piece of pizza from a street vendor.

I'll second the Brick Lane thing. Mrs TR and I sampled their very generous lunchtime buffet a few weeks ago - the best Indian buffet I ever ate (including in the UK!!) and an absolute bargain at only $10 a head. Lots of good veggie stuff in addition to fish and meat - includes appetizer and dessert items and they even bake fresh nan bread and bring it to your table included in the price!!!
