Hiya, I know what you mean. Sometimes when I have visited Blighty I have hated it, mainly the weather, traffic etc. then othertimes I've loved it. Gotta say though apart from the first couple of years I've always looked forward to getting on the plane to come home.

Oh, and just chill - if your mates are being a bit wanky so be it and maybe you have to sit down and evaluate things once your trip is over but no point in rowing with them now - if you go back to LA after that you may never speak to them again and no matter how pissed you are now you'd prob regret it in the long run.
sausage rolls and cream buns make you fat..
pubs..boring and stink of fags..
town centre.. I do laugh at the chavs but that doesn't get rid of them..
shop assistants, at least in the US they're helpful rather than the miserable ****ers in the UK..
countryside, missing your point a bit there, the US has some of the most spectacular scenery in the world..

and your last point I have no idea whatsoever what you're on about..

Rolling hills, greenery, stone walls, etc.

My last point - I just thought that you sounded thoroughly hacked off. Don't be falling out with anyone before you leave - it can be hard to make up when you're 4000 miles away - that's all.

Oh, and if you have some sausage rolls and cream buns you can walk the fat off by taking a walk in the country - sorted

Sure - then back to a nice cozy house for a fish supper with a few cans in front of a roaring fire watching match of the day.
Then doze off on the sofa - wake up at 2am and go to bed.

where else in the world would you get it ???

superb

sorry, I missed your point..but when I said everyone was miserable I wasn't referring to my mates I meant just everyone in general were miserable sods..maybe I've got used to everyone in the US being super nice but it beats everyone walking round with a face like a wet weekend, which incidently it is.. I've spoken to all my mates and that was the best bit about the whole trip.

Cool - f**k everyone else then - just laugh at them.
And besides - you've kind of proven the point yourself - if it was grey and pissing down all the time you'd prob be miserable yourself

Do you get much snow in Winter?

depends how close to the city you want to be

realistically anywhere from 150k upwards

no snow in winter (or very little) i've been here three years and the weather is great, you get 4 proper seasons. june and july are a bit humid, but less than chicago or florida

also, no state income tax and peroperty tax is reasonable

I was in several areas of Surrey about a month ago and instead of the summery wonderland I remembered it was *****ing miserable wet and cold.

And yeah, so were the inhabitants!
