Sounds good from what you have said.

So what is a 3 or 4 bedroom home with a bit of land costing now in Nashville please?

Do you get much snow in Winter?

So my question is, how many of us living over here actually like/love it and would never dream of going back and is this because of the area you are living. I guess I am trying to find out if there is obviously a lot more to offer here than good old P.A.
Count me in the group who wouldn't go back. I like Pittsburgh personally - lots here to remind me of the good things about home, and where I live, none of the bad. I also like the weather here, although a couple less months of winter would be nice, if anyone up there is listening .

I constantly add photos to my yahoo photo album as the seasons go by (actually have them broken down into <year> <season> to make it easier to organize) so the folks back home can see what a great life we're living over here. My brother and his family came for a holiday last summer for 3 weeks, and they are still talking about the place back home.

I saw a wild turkey by the side of the road yesterday (and took a picture of course) and have a raccoon and a groundhog running around the back yard. Never had that in dear old Carrickfergus back home.

If I want to see/hear home I look at the BBC NI web-cam for Belfast, and read the news. Nothing sadder and funnier to me than the NI talkback forums where they still go on about who's the worst terrorist organization. No doubt the bands are out practising for 12h July.

So no thanks, I love my life here, am going to be a proud voter this year, and have no interest in going back to the UK except for the occasional holiday.

Viva la difference!

LOL - couple of streets away from the power station, though only in the last 5 years I was living there. Used to live off RPG Avenue, alias Beechmount Ave, Brooke (better version of Ladybrook in Belfast) and Stranmillis in my Queens days.

Now I can see it all on Google Earth - looks better from above.

Didn't know Ladybrook had a better version

Couple of my brothers used to live there, not far from the waterworks.

I adore living in the US, I'm in the UK at the moment and its worse than I remembered. I will not be coming back to the UK for a very long time if I can help it, its a cold damp horrible shit hole. My mum asked me yesterday why I wouldn't be coming back and I replied that I can't honestly think of one positive thing about the UK. I miss my family but thats it..

Wow - looks like you have the "I hate the UK" blinkers on just like some of us have the "I love the UK" blinkers on.

Try to enjoy the rest of your trip if you're not going to be going back for a while.

Aye, I lived on up the road near the Castle.
I miss the views over the Lough and up to the hill.
I'd imagine that I'll go back for good eventually (maybe next month - maybe in a few years!!) - the trouble is that job wise its pretty pish unless you work for yourself and house prices are beyond a joke.
A property slump in 2 or 3 years back there would be great timing for me personally

no I'm not blinkered, last time I came back I loved it but this time for some reason its horrid, the weathers miserable, the people are miserable sods and yes even though I never quite believed it before there are gangs of hideous foul mouthed chavs everywhere you go and even the curry I had was shit.. I don't want to dislike it but at the moment I do.. Only a week more to go though.

Your PM box is full so...

Sausage rolls
Cream buns
Pubs
Walking round the town centre - just ignore/laugh at the chavs
Shop assistants not smarming all over you
Countryside

Oh, and just chill - if your mates are being a bit wanky so be it and maybe you have to sit down and evaluate things once your trip is over but no point in rowing with them now - if you go back to LA after that you may never speak to them again and no matter how pissed you are now you'd prob regret it in the long run.
