A lot will also say "one time" as opposed to once.

I once asked for the nearest cross street and one of the streets sounded like Deevorn ... I asked them to spell it, and it was Devon. Blew me away times two. ;)

...
But then again, when I was driving to my new post-doc at Bath University, I asked someone on a country lane if I was going the right way for Bath. He looked at me sideways and up-side-down, and then from top to bottom, then bottom to top and said (starting off slowly), I've never heard of Bath, but Baaaattthhhh is that way. :D

I was rather amused today at work when they started going on about 'terminal objectives' and 'enabling objectives'. :D

So, who's up for a bit of burglarizing?

When you say 'half ten' do you get people asking 'is that half past ten or half past nine?' - maybe it's just me....

I've been in the US for 51/2 years and I still don't understand what time a radio announcer means when he says 'quarter of seven' when he's telling the time.....I have to look at my watch to see if it's quarter to seven or quarter past seven...

Another one I often overhear when people are talking on their cellphones is .....'she axed me/I axed him' instead of pronouncing 'asked'. It is soooo irritating! (Actually I've noticed that it is mainly black people who say this but I don't know why?).
