Depends how serious he is about working. Even in walmarkt u can work up the ladder. I dont think he should be too fussy about where he works, just get a job, nothing to stop him continuing looking around.
Qualifications now a days are 2 a penny. Everyone is going to school to further their education and careers, Trouble is there are many more people with the qualis than there were years ago. Too many experienced qualified people applying for the same jobs. Have to be different today to get anywhere.
If u only have been married 2 years then he didnt get an unconditional GC. Which means u will probably have to start the whole immigration process again. With the fees going up soon ur going to have to make some decisions soon.

Only two degrees and 20 years experience-that is what he has. His sights were set in the range from business analyst to project manager as that is all he has done for the last 15 years. He knew and accepted that he would not get even half his London salary in Florida (U.S?) so that was never an issue.
All he expected was that he would be able to get a job in Florida that was at least in the same line of work.
As for his GC status, he still retains and has not abandoned it. As a matter of fact he has applied for Reentry Permit as adviced by his lawyer.

Did he apply for the reentry permit while he was still in the US or now he is living in the UK? (Your use of the present perfect seems to imply the latter)

Thaks all of you for your quick replies...!
I do not get a chance to reply to all your questions as it is hard to summon them up.
Like I said , the GC is not a problem. He has the GC and is allowed to work in the U.S. The problem is...
yes..that he is not keen on staying in the U.S. ...and that I do not know what to do...

So sorry, I think I was clear enough, and yes English is not my first language.
Again, while we were visiting my sister in the U.S (Florida) for Christmas time, he was able to apply for the Reentry permit (which we still are waiting to be approved) and yes we are currently in the U.K.
Hopefully I have clarified it for you..

Not sure I'd go that far. The impression I get is:
- they tried living in the US and hubby didn't like it, so they went to the UK
- now missus is homesick, plus she is pregnant, so she wants to 'go home'
- but hubby isn't keen and would rather stay put.
A very common dual marriage scenario...

I took a job at a lower position that what I wanted but have worked hard at it and my salary has increased by $20k in the last 3 years. I could have got better jobs futher afield in the USA but wife's family is here in the Midsouth and so I have stayed here.
Like I said, NC is a nice boom area for IT with the Banking going on there. It's not as expensive as Florida or California.

Bingo Jerseygirl...!
He says that he does want to try, but because of his "success" in finding a job here, he is staying put and does not even try!
