I'll do a poll over on TCE (www.thechaosengine.com - games industry website)... see what the general games industry norm is.

After all, if it all comes to that, I guess it will have to be the case. I know that we can manage on my ending salary, the only thing is that I myself will have a 2 year gap in my career, so my salary again and employment will be in question (although a lot less than my husband's especially with all the nursing shortage going on worldwide...)
Also, there is something else...that bothers me the most. I would love to stay home for at least awhile in order to breastfeed, but I guess at this point that is a luxury for us...
u could do a refresher course? I had a thought, is his concerns in getting a job anything to do with his Status. You mentioned something that made me think

Is ur plan to get a job to be sponsored for the HB1? That is why ur setting ur standards so high to qualify? If so then maybe this needs to be looked at differently, because as u also stated you dont have a lot of time to lose~!!!!

No, no Deedee...nothing of the sort..He had a "secure" status while we were living in States and could not find a job, so "finding a job" was and still is the problem. Now, (since we moved to London) his status is not as secure for obvious reason-we're out of the country!
As far as my job, no my licence is not in question of course! I am maintaining my continuing education hours in order to maintain my Florida licence. I am not sure, but I think you have to take refresher course only if you lose your licence. No, its more "gap in the career" in my profession (although I am not as worried about it as nurses fortunately can always find a job...some sort of job that is... 0
Mind you, I do not even know what is HB1 and we're not looking for any sponsorship, meaning that obviously what you assumed is not the case.

She doesn't need a H1b! In fact, she wouldn't qualify for one! Husband might qualify for one -- but he doesn't need one either! I.E. forget H1b!
