We have a new kerosene heater for me to be in charge of. Hard to see how anything could go wrong really.

Email to say no work tomorrow... So a drive in to power down the server room and then home in front of some movies.

We do have a wind up radio.

Not bothering with a generator... Just run an extension cord in from the car. It doesnt power everything, but it does the tv/dvd and internet (assuming cable stays up).

The good news is...Sandy will probably not destroy much property as it is fairly slow moving. The bad news is...because it's slow moving there will be a lot of rain...making the ground very soft. Most of the damage to property will come from the millions of trees that are expected to fall.

Anyway, the missus finds out 6:30am if there's no work or not tomorrow.
Could be worse though....when she worked for a large company up in Maine, they were told it was okay to stay open when they had a blizzard with 6 foot of snow as they're used to it, but hardly 1 inch of snow in Georgia and sites down there all closed that time around
