Good news: I filled up this morning.
Broward County, FL: Prices jumped 30c here in 24 hours. Regular 2.70. I filled up, yesterday 7.0 am, 4 hours later had gone up by 12c.

Yesterday, tt was $2.59 in the town where I work, and it was $2.79 in the town where I live.

Anyone understand why it's going up, when demand is going down? Or is that the reason right there?

Partly because oil prices are going back up due to the start of the recovery in the economy, which makes oil a better investment due to the anticipated rise in demand.

It has been steadily going down and the local did get to $2.43 but now up to $2.59 the others are more pricey.

That is more likely the reasoning behind the oil price hike!

Yeah, but I've heard that about summer, fall and winter too. How come a change in season never causes the price to go down?

Prices never go down. The exception to that rule is the price of any stock I happen to own.
