I still have no idea what happened with Lisa, like you I think she took the whole thing too seriously.
As for Ranjini - if you don't realise Ranjini and are freinds and like each other then you have completly missed the point and Rickmansworth will be advertising for a new village idiot when you go.
You have just blown the whole pretense that is mine and Ranjini's relationship - thanks pal.

Anyone ever noticed in life how those with a wicked sense of humour are very often also thoroughly nasty buggers - that is, when they're not trying to crack everyone up.
My sister worked in a showroon in Tahoe for decades and she often remarked that the nastiest Hollywood/Vegas types at rehearsals were the so-called comics.
Often the humour displayed by these people (not just the famous ones) is just a cover for the type of person they really are underneath.

But you're right. Life isn't worth anything without the man you love...

You mean there are several thoroughly nasty buggers and that Patrick is only one of them? Or that Patrick is NOT a thoroughly nasty bugger? I hope you meant the latter because I WONT have you saying anything nasty about Patrick

But I have a feeling that Patrick will too. He's always said he loves being abused
P.S. That was my 1000th post on BE. I wonder what that makes me? Super senior member?

I don't doubt for one second I'll miss it...
I don't have to tell you this but if I drive West I have the beauty and beaches of Cornwall or East I have the same for South Devon...
if I drive North I have the spendour of the Moors.. and the fantastic beaches of North Devon...
if I go South... i fall in the sea.. (this is a port after all)
I've lived here 23 years and, having been landlocked in Oxford for years before that, trully appreciate Devon and Cornwall for their beauty. I know i'm going to miss it..
On the other hand I'm going to Portland in Oregon.. it has fantastic summers but really wet autumns (fall ??) lol.. so i'll feel at home...
and I thought I would never in my life say this but i'm looking forward to seeing REAL snow... i'm sure you'll know what I mean...
BTW.. I drove a car for the first time in one of the carparks on the front at Exmouth... spent much of my hard earned money in the pubs of Exmouth and learnt to play golf there too... twas fun...

I don't think you will get much snow in that area; you may have to travel inland a bit to the mountains. On a clear day you can see 3 or 4 of those volcanic mountains in the Cascades like Hood, Rainier, Baker, St Helen's etc. They still have snow on them in the Summer.
If you are open to the suggestion of a day trip, then go just west of Portland to the town of Tillamook. At the cheese factory there, you can do a tour, but the main reason for going there is that they make the best ice cream I have ever tasted:

Thank you for the heads up on Tillamook... i'm looking forward to the visit already.. mainly because of the recommendation of the icecream... i've already picked out a Tillamook Mudslide... my mouths watering thinking about it...
as for snow.. lol.. i live in Plymouth.. it just doesn't snow here.. lol.. if it snows on Dartmoor people actually drive up to see it.. my daughter is 12 almost and has only ever been knee deep in snow once... thats soon going to change.. Dan regularly heads up to Mount Hood in the winter and apparently hes looking forward to teaching both me and my daughter how to snowboard... (*chokes with laughter*)
Its actually Hillsboro outside of Portland i'll be moving to but i never know whether people know where that is.. so i say Portland.. lol..
